1/2 a mil for 6 brs and 2 baths?

built in 1948, has oil heat which is the worst by far (better hope that tank is 5 years new) on a 60x100 lot. dont forget 5200 in taxes!

what a bargin!

the upgrades and changes in the interior alone would cost at least 50k (and thats probably going low).

i'm gonna sell my house tomorrow and buy that one :thumbsup

lol

Parts of Locust Valley...some parts have gotten really crappy...

Old Brookville has so much damn money and nice houses.....Just like the Hamptons, but so much trash has moved there...

Taxes are too expensive and living in general in NY is so expensive....:(

Property value is out of control here in NY, some of these houses are 50+ years old and in poor condition. My neighbor has his house up for sale at $550,000, all I have to say is nightmares are hidden under that vinyl siding. :2 cents:

Pornwolf 06-21-2004 07:42 PM

That's actually a pretty good price for space in the area. A good friend of mine is selling his 2 bedroom condo for $1,100,000

It's only 1200 square feet and nothing really special other than the doorman and street. He's getting bids pretty constantly around his price.

NY is crazy.

although if you dropped an additional 100k on renovating the thing you could easily double if not triple the asking price

simple turnaround home for a property developer.. easy money

inthestars 06-21-2004 07:48 PM

That's about what you'd pay in LA County for a house that looks alot like that.. I definitely want to move.

MrIzzz 06-21-2004 07:52 PM

downtown NY ?

phogirl69 06-21-2004 09:20 PM

I read in the paper that the average price for a house in OC where I live in CA is now 450,000, that's almost half a mil for an "average" house, not something spectacular, just a house with maybe 3-4 bedrooms. In some citites that will only get you a 2 bedroom condo, unless you want to live somewhere ghetto with gangbangers for your neighbors.

Vitasoy 06-21-2004 09:23 PM

That house doesn't look that bad... :2 cents: Plus it's in NY :-)

BaldBastard 06-21-2004 09:28 PM

this is what you get in Sydney for the same money
