Alienware! :thumbsup

MakaveIi 06-21-2004 01:14 PM

bah! You should check out Fujitsu Computer Systems

http://www.fujitsupc.com

S6210, C2310 or N5010

Those are my picks.

Customer service is second to none, they are actually in the USA and most can speak decent english!

fucking_remco 06-21-2004 01:19 PM

Alienware versus dell?

Thats like comparing a ferrari versus lade lol

Alienware
:thumbsup

MakaveIi 06-21-2004 01:21 PM

I do believe 95% of DELL's technical support and customer service is in India now.

Funny, they leave sales in North America though? :1orglaugh

Seriously give Fujitsu some consideration .. they are HUGE in Europe and Japan.

Unsure where alienware has their support based out of?

Oh, and one more nice thing about Fujitsu is locally authorized service providers. None of this "send it to the depot" crap. Most states have authorized service providers in their major cities .. espically California.

Enjoy, and discuss!

Dax 06-21-2004 01:23 PM

AlienWare is right here about 20 mins southwest of my crib! And if you ever have problems, u let me know and i'll talk to my peeps there.. I know about 6 ppl there..

DrewKole 06-21-2004 02:29 PM

Sager = Alienware without the l33t paintjob.

Plus, Sager has incredible upgrades available... I.E. if a new screen comes out, they can replace it for a few bucks, etc...

Atleast its upgradable that way

Pipecrew 06-21-2004 02:29 PM

Pic = 1000 words, i love mine and will only ever buy alienware from now on.

AdultNex 06-21-2004 02:59 PM

Alienware's systems are overpriced... You can definitely buy better systems at other vendors for almost half.

Alienware does carry decent systems-- Just that you shouldn't be paying so much unless you don't mind throwing money around.

mary34d 06-21-2004 03:12 PM

i'd kill for an alienware computer (literally)

Oh, in that case, get a Fujitsu and slam a Seagate drive in there.

You can't lose. :glugglug

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-21-2004 03:57 PM

Alienware Laptop is the better choice:thumbsup

Better support, its little heavier than the DELL though.
Batterry life on the Alienware is about 15 minutes longer than the Dell on the top end laptops.

Excellent choice, you will be very impressed, and if you ever need to order anything extra, you just call up, give your last name and they have the part out to you the next day.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-21-2004 04:07 PM

TDF ya should have got ahold of me, I can get ya a discount on Bulk Orders as a Alienware affiliate for companies.

4 or more systems corporate discounts.:(

CamChicks 06-21-2004 04:33 PM

Alienware are good machines - quality components - but you'e throwing away $500-$1000 to have them put those parts into one of their l33t cases.

If you just want a silly case, there is a good selection if independent manufacturers now: try http://www.xoxide.com/allcases.html

Dell can give you an ok low-budget machine, but their higher-end desktops are a total ripoff. (laptops excluded)

Common argument from people who dont like to own or wont own nice things..

I guess you're the type of person to buy a ferrari kit car instead of the ferrari.

maxdaname 06-21-2004 04:45 PM

What are you on about?

I'm saying I recommend the components Alienware chooses to use. But that you could buy those same components and build an absolutely identical machine for near $1000 less. On a $3K purchase, that's significant.

But if the brand-name on the box it's delivered in is important to you, then ok, I agree I am not that type of person; the parts inside are all that matters to me.

And I offered a link to Alienware-like cases if cosmetics matter.

Dell, by comparison, also charges a lot for their highend models, but uses relatively inferior and/or generic components. That's not to say they're not stable. But you don't get what you pay for.

Basic_man 06-21-2004 04:57 PM

What about a Toshiba? :D
