    PayPal scam going around?

I just received an email using PayPal letterhead to an email account that isn't registered with PayPal. The email said this:
Dear paypal user, We would like to inform you that we are upgrading our server to install a better protection software. So please click here and fill in the registration form again to renew your account.
The "click here" link points to an IP, I didn't click to see what was on the IP though. I actually saved the email for later use until I noticed where it was addressed to.

Anyone else get anything like this?

nope but you can bet your ass it's a scam... always look to how they address you, PP always says:

      Dear [firstname] [lastname]

scams are "dear customer/client/paypal user" etc.

Sly, it's always a scam when it comes to paypal. I almost gave out my info about 6 months ago until I noticed the same thing you mentioned.

The email address was wrong... fucking scam bastards!
