Amazing show..check it out if you can

hershie 06-20-2004 11:16 PM

I got dragged up on stage and humiliated for several minutes by a clown at one of their productions. It was an out of body experience.

SleazyDream 06-20-2004 11:17 PM

took every at a TGP VIP party to the "O" show one year in vegas - AWESOME evening - they really know how to entertain.

That was the most impressive one I have taken in by far. Wow.

lazycash 06-20-2004 11:24 PM

I've seen all their Vegas shows, but their recent showing in San Diego of Varekai was maybe the best.

I went and saw Mystere a couple of months ago. The recurring theme with the bg baby was weird but the show was great overall.

I loved how the exit went through the giftshop. Great marketing plan.

Cirque is incredible. Been watching them for years. Their behind the scenes series on Bravo was VERY interesting. :thumbsup

Its actually amazing how skilled these athletes are and how underpaid they are.....

On that show they showed how most of the lived in groups, renting rooms in apartments.

I saw Varekai in LA back in October. A friend of mine convinced me to go.

Totally blew me away. Everything from the acrobatics, to the music. There is sooo much going on, I was overwhelmed. After spending the first 20 minutes trying to see everything, I gave up and just sat through the most amazing show.

If you have the chance to see them, do. It is very worth it.

stevecore 06-21-2004 11:28 AM

It's like acid without the acid.

IF YOU GO, GET SEATS RIGHT UP FRONT.

It's like visual & audial candy.

Great analogy, stevecore. The costumes, lights, and music make watching the performances fantastical.....add the incredible acrobatics and it's surreal.

Varekai thus far has been my favorite. Felt like a damn kid watching that performance... :)

huey 06-21-2004 11:52 AM

My girlfriend liked it.

Strife 06-21-2004 11:54 AM

Can beat watching it live... simply was amazing :thumbsup

x-vision 06-21-2004 12:58 PM

The live shows blow the bravo shows away

I saw Verakai last week. It was insane. I've seen a couple other live shows (Dralion & Alegria), but Verakai was the best so far. The guy on crutches blew me away.

The acts, sets, costumes & music are all mind boggling!

hershie 06-21-2004 01:49 PM

Anyone else see Saltambanco? That was the one that I was dragged up on stage at.

I actually have had someone say I should sue Cirque, as I had a ventral hernia which is a rip in my stomach muscle and where part of the bowel pops through the tear in the muscle, and I was not to lift any weights whatsoever and the clown at one point jumped into my arms on stage and I am pretty sure that caused the rip to worsen...and I had some complications which is a long story but it was very presumptous to just jump in my arms like that.

stephthegeek 06-21-2004 01:59 PM

Such an amazing experience. I've only been to a live show once though (Quidam). I think there's another one coming to Toronto shortly.

Do you know when?

Kimmykim 06-21-2004 02:05 PM

I've seen Varekai, Dralion, Alegria, O, Mystere and the horse show called Cheval that is put on by the same guys.

All of them are incredible and I've seen most of them multiple times.

I've heard that Zumanity isn't that great, but I'm going to see for myself the next time I am in Vegas.

I've only seen one show live. Didn't even know they had all these various shows.

Watching it on TV is cool, but just doesn't do it justice at all. You have to be there. :2 cents:
