westmaster.com hosting, is it good?
 

Hi,
Just looking for a good host and wondering if anyone has had any experiences with these guys, their virtual plans look competitive. I just want to make sure they are reliable.

no it's very bad... i know a few guys who have some sites hosted over there... it's pretty slow

PLUS: from the Netherlands they have 90%(!!!!) package loss!!

Ahem, I've been reading several boards about payhosts & they all seem to agree that if you have a lot of traffic daily, you want dedicated service.

I've been with westmaster.com for over a year now .. they're fairly good, great prices and support.

I've used westmaster.com for about 6 months. They reply very fast to e-mails and have no down time.

As I always say: Good and Cheap are eachothers OPPOSITES... You can't have a good car for $100, same with hosting.

Just for the record, i'm someguy from iephosting.net too.

And tim always sets 1 line at the END of the message which easily can be ignored, furthermore this way ppl know that we have a hosting service so that nobody ever can tell us 'you only tolled me they were bad pretending to be a normal user while you are competitors'

Another big misunderstanding: WHY DO YOU GUYS ALWAYS TELL EVERYONE TO GET DEDICATEDS? If somebody has more than like 5-6mbit a day (is about 2000 GB's) then you could consider it... but until you get that big a GOOD virtual host *should* furfill your needs...

Well.....from my limited experience using Westmaster, they are great.
The pages seem to load fast (unlike what someone else said) and no problems with down time.
I've mailed the webmaster with several requests (adding crons tabs, forwarding e-mail, etc.) and it was done within 12 hours of the request, with an e-mail of confirmation.

Muchos, I didn't mean the signature. I'm cool with it.

Tim wrote that westmaster was bad. Well, that's his good right and nobody would say anything against it (not even me http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif ) since it's his opinion. But then the next line is quite spammy, don't you think? Nobody asked for alternatives to westmaster.

Anyways, might be that I'm a little too picky but hell it's annoying in my opinion so I say it http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

About the dedicated servers: Sorry, you're wrong http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif Once you get 150GB+ / month you should consider a dedicated server because of its superior speed and reliability. You really don't want another shared user on your virtual server to destroy your big site(s) by putting up a script that runs amok. Trust me, that hurts and that can happen on a virtual server and can't on a dedicated server (unless you do it yourself).
Once you earn the money to go dedicated you should do so.

We've resold for them for about a year. Haven't had any complaints yet. (Know about 60% who buy westmaster services) They indeed answer quickly and correctly the first time around unlike many hosts.

I'm indeed pretty much on a spam tour http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif but that's simply coz I sincerely believe we're the best by far and I don't want people to signup at not-top-quality-hosts like westmaster. I just want to convince everybody of the importance of quality since always ALL everything can talk about and seems to care about is the PRICING of a host... and everybody seems to need to get f*cked up hard a few times first before they start to understand that speed and reliability are FAR more important than pricing...

And sorry Mr. Cocktail, but I'm going to use that car-example again, simply coz it illustrates the difference perfectly; if pricing is the only thing that matters would f.e. Mercedes then exist?!?! NO! Coz then everybody buys a Fiat (they're cheaper namely)...

Coz I guarantee you; a virtual hosted site at our virtual host will have extraordinary performance, absolutely comparable to the performance of a dedicated host...

It's very simple; a single machine can easily pull a few Mbit, WHY THE HECK USING ONE SINGLE MACHINE FOR ONLY 150GB (= not even 1 Mbit) THEN!?!?!

NightLizard, I just signed up too, and they told me the same thing, but they allowed me to pay with paypal. If you have an account, you can get started right away, or you can set up an account, all you need is a checking account.

Write them and ask about the option, they got back to me within an hour today, and gave me that option.

I think I have to wait for paypal to clear (takes about 5 days) then I'll be set.

I can see there lots of satisfied customers who recommend our services and a few bad replies that we are or must be really bad host.
First, people who submitted those bad experiences were not our customers before - I searched the database of names and emails of old customers.
Second, do not belive that price reflects the quality of services.
You could have the same good thing/service that you buy on a main street or on a periphery, and this is the main goal.

Sounds nice westmaster, but you all should know that the hosting business works just like all other economical businesses: THE BEST IS NOT THE CHEAPEST!!! IT'S LIKE THAT EVERYWHERE SIMPLY COZ IT'S LOGICAL LIKE HELL!!!

I was looking for a couple new cheap web hosting services so I signed up with westmaster and prohosters. After 4 days, my account is finally up and running at westmaster. Meanwhile, it's been 3 days and my account is still not entirely set up at prohosters. This does not leave a good first impression. Maybe I've just been spoiled by bigfast but it never took bigfast more than a few hours to fulfill any request I had.

I took a small plan to test them out so I chose the semi-dedicated at 50 gigs/month. Everything is set up now and things are looking good. I love the fact that I can host as many domains as I want and get a unique IP for each. If the speed is good (I know they've had problems in the past with this) then I will definitely stick with them to host all my little domains. BTW, I've been with Bigfast for a few months now and could not be more pleased so I will continue to use Bigfast for my TGP posting.

I personally had problems with westmaster and don't recommend them to anyone.

Right now im using http://thumbgalleryhost.com for my gallery submissions and http://adultcentral.com for a couple other sites I have.

They both have great prices. But be sure to read the fine print at adultcentral.

Check them out, they have both been good to me.
