Did you uninstall the old drivers?

Sounds like perhaps its trying to do a resolution or refresh that it cannot support, you need to hit F8 before XP boots, go into safe mode and correct the drivers.

Helpful hint #1:

before you install a new video card change your driver in windows to Standard VGA, that way no matter what card you're running it'll always work.

ive got a radeon 9200

im using the older drivers because the new catalysts dont work too well with the older cards (damn you ati :feels-hot )

anyways i dont remember how it went when i installed it, but yuo sure its not testing your screen resolution? some cards do thats when you restart the computer, your screen will go blank for about 10 seconds....

or does your screen just go blank right off the bat....?
