on my new computer I can only get 1024x768
 

screen resolution but on all my others I can get the 1152x864 I like that setting how can I get it on my new computer? it has a fresh windows install what am I doing wrong? and I know my monitor can handel it cause it's the same fucking monitor

install the video card drivers, its probably using windows drivers

depends on what kind of video card it is.

Chances are it's either a geforce or a radeon though...

geforce = www.nvidia.com
radeon = www.ati.com

it just says integrated graphics with 674mb shared memory

www.hp.com it's the a420n

ahh... on board video. That's probably the best it'll do in that case.

Time to go buy a better video card.

there's a small chance your graphics card not to support this resolution.

Yeah... on board will do standard stuff, the things that the manufactures assumed that people would "most likely" want.

It doesn't usually have the functionality to go beyond that though.

1152 is not a 'standard' setting so you will probably need to get a new card or try to update the drivers if possible..

Make sure you have this latest driver

Onboard video suckz, had the same trouble with another computer i bought 6 months ago, no more onboard stuff. Buy new one i.e. Sapphire 9800 pro is good :thumbsup
