That's 5lbs of strawberries that I just picked from my own garden. MMMMmmmm! JUICY!

That simply does not compare. These were so ripe they fell off into my hands. They're till warm from the sun. :)

Yummy!! We only have a few little ones in our yard and I was fantasizing about going to a u-pick to get some. They are definitely yummier sun-warmed than store-chilled. Strawberry Shortcake sounds good to me!

When I was a kid, picking berries from our gardens used to be the best! We had blackberries, strawberries, and lingonberries.
I think I ran around as a perpetually berry stained faced kid for quite a few years!

My boyfriend's mother is from Denmark and she makes this soup from strawberries. It is served chilled and is soo fukin good.

Sadly, she is very high maintenance (husky who likes to run away, pick up small dogs in her mouth - you can ask KCat about that one but our dog had KCat's pug IN HER MOUTH -- not cool) and our dog sitter is out of town.
