Biggest business deal you've ever made?

What's the biggest deal you've ever made and how did it turn out for you ?

BradM 06-19-2004 05:05 PM

Sealed an ad campaign that turned into some SOLID long term revenue which I estimate to be around $500,000 at this point.

Did it at 17 so I am pretty proud of that.

I have never done huge business deals, yet

I am kind of paranoid in putting *ALL* my money into one thing

for now, at my current age, I am doing great making little little business deals here and there :glugglug

I purchased the only Kiss costumes ever released by the band. Paid $200k on behalf of the Hard Rock Cafe. As far as I know, the costumes can be seen on display in Orlando, FL.

I also was involved in the acquisition of a guitar that once belonged to Jimmy Hendrix. A big score at $40k.

Cool stuff. You have to be really careful with celeb pieces though. I had a guy try to sell me one of Elvis's cars once and it turned out to be a total scam attempt when we did some homework on it. It was a car Elvis paid for but it was just a gift given to one of his crew, so he never actually owned it nor drove it.

no big deals yet and proud of it (I would be burned if I did a few of those now)... I'm holding out until I have the knowledge and network to pull it off. (I give myself 2-3 years to do something big). I am building my assets thought.... (passive and portfolio)

bignasty 06-20-2004 07:42 AM

Got my car refinanced at a lower rate, only 20 more payments and its mine

Just signed a deal (yesterday) to produce the paysites and dvd's for a adult fetish magazine company. We have been working on this for years now and we finally finallized the deal.

Last year i made over 500k expenses to change the company to fit the demands of one of the largest companies in Europe. They signed up, worth 15+ million revenue a year. :)

all kidding aside, i've made some pretty good deals in the past year or so. depends on what you consider a "deal" though.

made some good deals with a couple of regulars (for caming), bought a decent banner off of RedBanners (first time i didnt make my own banner & bought from someone else), hm.......nothing really drastic though. just a few cool deals here and there. :)

In these two cases...I dealt directly with the artists or family members of the deceased. They got the big bucks mostly because we were fairly certain that the shit was legit.

This is my lot in life. Started as a hobby in High School and I was able to parlay it into a job with the Hard Rock, who are the only real collectors of this shit. They have a HUGE collection, so when it came time to cut costs they kicked my butt to the curb. No need to keep buying when you have just about all of the memorabilia that means anything.

The reason they finally came up with to get rid of me was that I was surfing porn all day...or so they thought. I was justing getting into the biz and was working my stuff on their time...making more money with a few small sites than they were paying me :Graucho
