To console or not to console...
 

That is the question!

I've noticed that some sites open links and galleries in new windows, and yet others don't. I've been deliberating over this again for the past week... a few of my friends swear up and down that any TGP or Linksite that knows what the fuck they are doing will open in console, while others say exactly the opposite.

As for me, I still open in new windows, mostly because some of the TGP galleries go bad, and I don't want the surfer to think it's because anything I did. Just wondering what you all think on this subject.

I guess you would save on bandwidth if you opened a new window everytime rather than the surfer leaving your site and then hitting the back button and reloading

Yeah BW is another reason for opening in new, but I really don't worry about BW too much, I just like keeping my site lightning fucking fast because 75% of my bookmarks are broadband surfers. I'm just trying to look deeper into my traffic loss last month. It's like watching all that you've worked and worked hard and honest for over the last 5 years just flush down the toilet! As you can see, mojo is my main means of $$$, even though my traffic dropped by 100K last month all my video sales and paysite signups stayed the same, I still miss those horny college kids using the search box. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif

Guess I'm just going to buy a new domain and direct it... this time with no XXX in the name... maybe thefly.org, lol NO, I got a cool name in mind, just haven't made up my mind if I'm going to build a new site around it or just re-direct to my main one.

Damn this Bacardi is smoooooth... beer is for later to "polish" it off.

I used to be a purist with no pop-ups whatsoever. I got over that.

In fact, I'm ready to become a circle jerk.

To be quite honest XXX4YOU. I dont think that opening a new window will cause any harm to your traffic. You know as well as I do that traffic goes up and down faster than a whores pants. Thats just the nature of the buisness.

i like to open in new windows because the back button doesn't work too fast sometimes, so i'm helping the surfer.

but how do you make people not bookmark the inside of your site? (i know i can make my own bookmark code on my site, but i'm talking about the IE menu itself... is that programmable in anyway?)
