J.M. Productions Sues Kaytel Video Distribution & Elan Elmaleh
June 18, 2004

J.M. Video Productions has filed a multimillion dollar federal lawsuit against Elan Elmaleh and his business, Kaytel Video Distribution, alleging copyright infringement, contributory infringement, unfair competition and dilution. J.M. alleges that Elmaleh and Kaytel knowingly engaged in the sale of "Internet distribution licenses" for J.M.'s works "with actual knowledge that they did not possess said rights" and that they "created forged documents" to convince third parties that they could offer these licenses. J.M.'s attorney, Allan Gelbard, filed the complaint in Federal Court on March 30, 2004.

LOL :1orglaugh

I'm from Montreal, and been in this business for very long time....

How the fuck can people do business with this prick, unless you fuck him first... Ask Leisure, DBM, Nanou, and the rest of the guys that still have their ass burning.

He pissed me so much off that I own his fucking domain name....
You want it????

Mutt 06-18-2004 08:45 AM

congrats, take them the distance.

what was the name of the website where this Kaytel company was licensing JM Productions content illegally? I'm not familiar with Kaytel.

All over Adultboucer, and many others... including major ones... JM will answer if he feels like it.

Mutt 06-18-2004 08:49 AM

oh it's a Montreal distribution company. how many of these licenses did they sell and to any big names in the adult Internet biz?

Mutt 06-18-2004 08:51 AM

If it's all over AdultBouncer sue their asses too - there's more money there than with Kaytel I bet - AdultBouncer knows how to reach every studio directly, their entire business is about adult movies, over and over they play dumb, that they were sold licenses by people who represented they had the rights to do so. total bs and a judge will see through it in two seconds.

talk to Jules Jordan. he'll have info for u.

I agree. But Kaytel is so greedy that he didn't limit himself to sell unknown european product ( MVM studios and others... ) but went on to sell AMERICAN stuff to an AMERICAN company... That is dumb!

He is also sued for dumping some US product into Greece ... But this guy is now personnaly very very rich ...

It's simple:

Whatever he got his hands on to whomever he could sell....:2 cents:

where did this Kaytel guy make deals with web companies to license the stolen stuff? does he go to shows? do cold calls? cuz i've never heard of anybody being approached by him with these JM Productions licenses.

well if i were JM's lawyer i'd be filing suits against some others because in some cases <cough>Bouncer</cough> there is no such a thing as 'innocent infringement' - if they bought anything off this Kaytel guy they knew it was bogus. All it takes is one phonecall to JM in L.A to check.
