Someone could have warned me.

So, I decide to go to Carl's, Jr tonight. It is probably the 2nd or 3rd time I have ever been to one. I see their $6 burger list, looks interesting.

At the bottom of the list is their "low carb burger - only 6 grams" - although I am not on any Atkins diet or anything I decide to order one to see what the difference is. Boy, was I in for a surprise.

I get home, open it up, and it is a fucking hamburger with no bun, but lettuce instead! WTF? I am sure glad I wasn't trying to eat on the run or that would have been a real drag.

So, so all of these places that advertise "low carb" menus do that to you? Give you some meat in between two pieces of lettuce?

Also, if they are giving you a low carb burger, why are they offering a combo (with fries)? Isn't that a little self-defeating?

a hamburger with no bun is a sirloin steak, and is meant to be eaten with a fork and knife, not your hands.

well, to their credit it was the least expensive $6 burger they had . . . of course there was no cheese, guacamole, bacon, chili, or whatever else they offered

Welcome to hell, my friend.

You think vegans are a pain in the ass? ;) Don't EVEN get into it with these Atkins people.

Hamburger with no bun? 6 bucks and you need to supply your own bun?

bringer 06-18-2004 03:37 AM

didnt know what low carb meant? it is kinda pointless to offer it with fries though.

John Hughes 06-18-2004 03:40 AM

I like the "In and Out? burgers... 4x4 animal style, guaranteed heart attack! ...but damn good burger!

well, they only call it the $6 burger because that is how much it would cost in a sit down restaurant, they are about $4 or $4.50 I think

In & Out is about 3 miles away. . . . too far to drive for a burger, plus I could never eat one of those at night time, too much food

I don't really watch tv, I pretty much just listen to it, and don't recall hearing that commercial

sweet7 06-18-2004 05:18 AM

I've been wanting to try one of those lettuce burgers.
