Candid Hosting..good or not?
 

I have been looking for a new server to move to. Has anyone every or is now using Candid hosting? If so, how are they?

I will tell you in a bit.. Just got an account there myself.. Prices look to be good so, I'm going to give em a try :-))

They sure do market well, I see their advertisments in tons of publications.

Their prices are good to. Have you seen some other sites that use them and checked out the speed, cause I think they may have a shitload of sites on the same server?

But from what I hear, the downtime is the marketing sale.. I guess they have very little downtime, and word of mouth says they are very reliable, but like I said my only concern witht hem would be speed, and potential lag because of the quanity of sites they have on each server.

I was planning on setting up an account with them myself. I was referred to them by several different people. Apparently they have just recently moved 4 of the top ten sites (according to sexlist tracker) to their servers. As per.... I forget his name but he is EXT# 254 at Candid Hosting :-)

If you just need a few sites hosted (not a dedicated server), I can do you for $50/month/domain, plus $5/gig bandwidth for anything over a gig.

My server has NEVER gone down, in over 8 months of operation.

I hear they host one of the large free servers, but from what I know of that free server, it is slow. I just wanted to see how others single webmaster which have sites do on there.
So, those who are hosted there, let me know how they are and how customer service is and stuff like that. Not that I don't believe them, but I like to question people who have had experience with a product.

Ya, Travis is his name. I dont know what 4 of the top ten he was talking about but Bryan from X-3 Scripts referred me to them. He says they are a good choice.

I have all my sites with Candid. Been there over a year now. No complaints at all. I have always been able to reach them by phone, and emails are answered promptly. Their Prices are hard to beat.
