Fucking Hotlinking Bastards!!!
 

I'm having a fucking nightmare at the moment with damn Korean hotlinkers. I had a regular .htaccess file that is supposed to block hotlinking but it obvioulsy didnt' work because I noticed one Korean site was hitting me to the tune of 25K a day!!!

So I also added a line to block that specific url and it seemed to work but I also inadvertently blocked genuine surfers and seemed to piss off a few list owners inadvertently into the bargain.

I know .htaccess isn't foolproof and can accidentally block people who's browser/firewall doens't send any valid HTTP_REFERER so what the fuck should I do?

As it stands I've just blocked this one url at the moment and I hope that works but I'd rather find a better long term solution.

Any suggestions on how I can block the hotlinkers whitout blocking genuine traffic?

you know whats joyful.. when they hotlink you and put a blah.gif?234.1222123123 on it. have fun trying to block that :(

got DOS'd the other day where they thought it would be cute to hahahahahahahahahaha it.. and reload every second with new random numbers in its place.. reallll cute.. alarmed me when my bandwidth went from 8 mbit to 32mbit in about 4 minutes :-/

What are the koreans hotlinking from your site?
Pics or movies..because the .htaccess rule you have is for images...not for movies...
