DNS Problems Any Help?
i recenlty bought a few e domains, but i cant seem to add them coz the dns wont click over to dirtystats, and also the current domains i have are still on the adultgods nameserver which doesnt exist anymore, whats the go? how can i fix it?
also on other accounts when they add a domain it doesnt work without a dns clean up for some reason aswell i think. my main domain currently that i am refferring to are phatslinks.com and thefuckshow.com |
You will to update them with the registrar like godaddy.com or bulkregisters.
Point them to the new dns server and add the zones. http://www.enom.com would hold the pointer info for thefuckshow.com |
ive pointed them to dirtystats name server in my namecheap.com admin panel thou

How long have you waited for them to work after adding them to DNS and registering them? They might not be publicly available for like 24-48 hours in some cases. Normally 24 hours at typical.

i have had some that took like 3 days before if the line is long to wait

- sometimes Registrars make it confusing and make you delete the old Hosting Company info... so when you think you replaced the old name servers with new ones you really only added DNS # 5, 6, and 7 - I've used 1&1 and had to wait 3-4 days so it just depends on what company you use... - Use your domain registrars WHOIS search to check... Did you post the domains on this thread?? |
I just checked.. both at
Name Server: NS1.DIRTYSTATS.COM Name Server: NS2.DIRTYSTATS.COM Call your ISP and ask how often they update DNS... that's what you're waiting on... |

wtf?

this is areal bummer.... and with over 20 domains, I decided to approach it differently.
First of all, I have my own domain name server on one of my dedicated box. So, even if I move the site to another host or whatever, all I need to do is to change the IP address in my name server, and it works instantly. Notice, I do not change name server ( me) , just the IP. I also add another 2 name servers outside of my network at zoneedit. It is free, and can act as a fail safe in case of a failure on my name serever. Again there, just the IP is changed when required by a move, so instant... :2 cents: |

ok i am on a dedicated server of my own, with my own name servers, and i chagned everything but nothing working yet |
is it a new box you just setup ? And is it a new site? If so, you will have to wait 24-72 hours till your registrar lets know to all that the nameservers is ns.yourdomain.com.
I suppose you did set up properly your ns , to point to the IP address of the site(s). If it is a move from one IP to another, then just changing the IP in the name server should be instant... Let us know. |
dw its fixed, i restarted the server dns shit
|
I love it when a plan comes together.

ok it seem to have worked for a while but now:
www.phatslinks.com www.xtremesexx.com www.sirthumbalot.com www.godofporno.com www.thefuckshow.com are all blank, and i cant access even a pic wtf is going on now |

It's a bitch to manage a server at first, but you will get use to it. This month, I had a 150 gigs of bandwith that was not attributed to any site... My bill was going to be about 400.00 more for 300 gigs!!! When that happens you learn fast ... Last note: in hosting, never go for the cheapest. The frills like WHM and Cpanel are worth every cent they cost. |
