god damn - hockey gear reeks.. wtf
gloves, skates, helmet starting to smell like something died in them. Wiping them out , airing them out, spraying fabreeze helps, but when they get sweaty again the smell is back.
Obvoiusly I cant throw this stuff in the washer, and its too expensive to just throw it away. I know someone here plays hockey and knows what I'm dealing with, how do you clean your gear? |
Keep a sheet of fabric softener in each one while you air them out.
Edit: Bounce or Fleecy sheets - I think it's called fabric softener (sorry just tired) |
Go to your local rink and ask if anyone there has a dry cleaning service. Usually they will know someone that will take your gear and get it all dry cleaned for you.
They offer this service at the rink I play at. DH |
i've had that same problem for years. never thought of having it dry cleaned. god idea DH.
my worst was always my knee pads. ick i didn't even wanna put those fuckers on sometimes. |
they can dry clean the inside of hockey gloves and ice skates?
|
1) try hanging it next to your furnace, it dries it out much faster.
2) you can cover it down with baby powder (I'm not a fan of this one though) 3) another option is to keep dryer sheets in your hockey bags or... try a google search. I can't remember what it's called but there is an actual hockey equipment machine dryer out there. That would be the best! |
