I am a huge doors fan, but the new doors I can't stand them. I wouldn't buy their music, or go to one of their concerts if I was paid well to go.
Thats like replacing Kurt Coban from Nirvana... |
I want to see them in concert baddddd
|
The Cult = :GFYBand
The Doors = :ugone2far |
Are they touring as "The Doors" or some other name? Are they doing all doors songs? or cult songs too?
|
the band is called "The Doors of the 21st century"
i dont know about the songs yet, cause i didnt know till few days ago they were on tour. My guess is doors song's primarily and this one should be huge July, 10th: London (Wembley Arena) |
bump
Just returned from the concert. It was AWESOME. Best I've seen by far. The Doors performed their known songs like LA Woman, light my fire, break on through, five to one, people are strange etc etc. Ray Manzarek was making comments about Bush all the time hehe. Kriger was fantastic in guitar and Astbury was a real metapsychosis of Morrison. Few songs before the end The Doors dissapeared for few minutes and returned weearing the Greek soccer uniforms lol i'll post pics in a day or two. |

I agree with SlickRick, and JMScore.
Huge Doors fan, and also a very HUGE Cult fan. Love Ian and i absolutely admire Robbie Krieger as a pickless guitarist, I have met John Densmore and did work for him, and have nothing but respect for all of them. BUT... this is NOT the Doors, and its almost a disgrace, in my opinion. Ian is NOT Jim. Remember the DOORs, started with Jims voice, not the other way around |
sucks doesnt look like they are coming anywhere near me ;[

I love the Cult but
VAL KLIMMER does a good Morrison ! :Graucho |
I saw them last year @ the Oakdale in Connecticut, AWESOME SHOW!!!
Their new lead singer sounds/acts a LOT like our good old buddy jimmy |
I want to be fair and I can tell you guys you are wrong or better state it like this:
If you are a Morrison fan probably you would be dissapointed, because simple the concert isn't about Morrison, Morrison can't be there and the only reference to him was made by Ray when he just said he was the guy that first met Jim in a beach of Cali. These concerts are about The Doors. Ray and Robbie are The Doors. Ian is NOT Jim as Fletch said, but he isn't insulting either. I had with me a friend, HUGE (with big and bold letters) fan of The Doors that at first didn't want to come for the same reason, the absence of Morrison. That made me mad. I was like, George you know....all these years I know you have made zillions references to Ray and Robbie, you have told me their stories a shitload of times etc etc and now you don't want to come? Get real. I'll tell you one thing. When we left the concert on the way back to home he thanked me like a hundred times for insisting to come! I've seen other old bands the last years like Stones and Purple with their singers being there and although they were very good you could barely feel the magic. In The Doors the magic is still there. cheers :) |
Didn't I see a post like this last year?
