If they are ever able to clone people .. And have the clones live normal lives ... Wouldn't that throw a giant wrench in to the works for religious zealots? If only god can create lives .. And then we do it .. Then what?

If one of my vital organs is failing, I want doctors to be able to grow a new one that will not be rejected by my body.

I don't know why that freaks people out; it's a lot less creepy than taking body parts from dead strangers, and sewing them into your own.

Says it all. :thumbsup

I feel the same way. I think that I would rather use a cloned part in my body then one from a dead guy or stranger. I hope it never has to happen , but It would be comforting knowing that they could find me a match by my own dna.

Yeah, it's the god nuts causing problems again.
We need to start institutionalizing these people instead of electing them.

While there would be little practical reason to clone a whole human,
the result is simply an identical twin. We already have thousands of 'clones'.
The only difference is, was the creation accidental or intentional? And who cares?

Human cloning is really going to far.

yes and no

a ill child that passes away and the parents want to clone that child...

Hilter NEVER ...

if it means more twins, in particular more female twins, preferably female pornstar twins, I can see the huge value to society as a whole from human cloning

I used to be in favor of it, until I started reading and posting on gfy.

Now I am strongly opposed to it.

There is a study underway in Europe to implant altered cells from your own body into your jawbone where a new tooth and bone structure will then grow. They've gotten it to work in animals, and say it'll be available to humans in 5 years.

The way they are attempting this prosedure is illegal in the US since it technically involves human cloning.

So over here we are working on ways of growing the teeth outside the body first and then a method to implant them would be used. American scientists say their method is 20 years away.

So by banning human cloning here in the US, as you can see we are already lagging behind in certain studies. Nor would American's be able to utilize them should they be a success elsewhere in the world.

Americans would have to go to another country for proper medical treatment. That is, if the US Government didn't ban traveling for this reason.

Cloning doesn't clone personality or thoughts. You could clone Hitler and 30 years later have a minister that just so happens to look just like him.

It doesn't do any good to clone kids for this same reason either.

Sure why not.....we've fucked with everything else on the planet.

crockett 06-16-2004 06:23 PM

cloneing a full human.. I'd say no... but growing new body parts for replacements I'm all for it.
