Why do you work in the 'Adult Industry'? Full-time, part time? Millionare from it?
 

So what's the deal with you?

Is adult your #1 means of income, or is it just some part-time gig you happen to do?

Adult is hated by nearly everyone who isn't related to it - yet you are still in this business. Some of you are old schoolers who have been in the biz for 20 or 30 + years. Obviously if you started that long ago and are still in it, you have made or are making six or seven figures.

But those of you who are only making 1k-2k a month(give or take a little) or just doing it part time...why? Does your family know what you do? Do your friends know? Are you proud of doing such 'filthy' work for pay you can earn at a normal 9-5 job?

You're not making the big bucks, so is the only reason you're in adult because you're not good for anything else?

Why are you here?

If people can make a couple grand extra a month in their spare time then why knock it? 2 grand is alot of money to some people. If you've got soo much extra you can start handing it out here

Honestly, I havn't been in adult for 20 or 30+ years. I have been in it for only about two years now. I produce content and occasionaly do design.

I'm not what you would call a 'big baller,' but I do make enough to live a 'decent' life.

And you?

it's only wrong to be making 2k a month doing this if it takes you a few hundred hours to do it. if you work 20 hours a month and make 2k, who would say that's a bad thing?

Well, here is the problem. In order to make two grand extra per month, I think adult would have to be your only means of employment.

When I first started in this business, I started out with one AVS site with Deluxe Pass..I devoted only around 10-15 hours per week on it, and it barely brought in $300/month. It was good, considering I was working a full-time job already.

As time passed on, I dedicated more and more time to the AVS world. I made a few more sites and before I knew it, I didn't have a regular full-time job, I had an 'adult' full-time job. I dedicated at minimum 60 hours a week doing design and updating AVS sites, that's when the good money started flowing in.

I am in it part time but make more from it then my other job.
Yes my family knows and they don't like it. My friends also know. Yes I am proud of doing it.:Graucho I don't give a crap what anybody has to say about me doing it.

I do it because I have always hated the 9-5 crap. I hate having to work for some dipshit boss and make barley enough to pay for an apartment. I hate having to work on the hours that they say a normal person works. I hate not getting rewarded for working harder then the other employees. I hate it all and will do everything I can to never have to go back to it.

True...but in order for anything to become successfull, at first you must apply everything you have...so a few hundred hours is acceptable. after everything gets rolling, so does the money. Just keeps coming and coming.

Now, I doubt many webmasters here make 2k a month as soon as they started in the biz...

So if you make more doing adult then your regular job, why not quit the regular job and devote the time you spent on that job towards adult...

Yes I do. I am planing on quiting soon. I am collecting enough cash so that if for some reason I have a few months were I make crap I can still pay the bills.

I am also getting my plans ready so I know what I am going to do each day so I don't waste too much time deciding what I should be doing.

I guess you could say adult is part time for me. I do both adult and mainstream, but they kind of merge together. I'm in the business of getting web site visitors and selling them something. If I get money from pokemon traffic, or adult traffic it's still making money off website visitors.

There's probably such a big emphasis on adult because it's a major chunk of web traffic as a whole. It's the oldest industry in the world and isn't going anywhere.

Adult is also the easiest targetted traffic to get. :2 cents:
