interesting idea for a new business, anyone interested?
 

Ok we make a site where surfers can log in and view our online digital portfolio's, if they like the pictures they may buy print(s) and have them delivered to their house.

we then use our spare time to go out and snap pics of the public! Kids in a playground, couples in a park or on the beech, nice looking cars, anything!

After i snap these pics, i hand out my business card or flyer and let the people know they can log into this site and browse for free, and possibly order a print if they like the pics.

we can then create a affiliate section allowing other photographers to take/upload/sell their own pictures and get a cut of the proceeds.

pictures would naturally be overpriced, maybe $5 - $7 for a portrait of a couple, something like that i guess.


any potential for something like this?

what you are describing is called a phtography studio

rich, the real question is

why would they buy from you
instead of a real pro studio with ultra hightech cameras and 10 000 lesnes?

they let anyone upload the pics they take so peopel can purchase them?

i was thinking of allowing each photographer have his/her own portfolio so they can put it on business cards.

i mean it only costs about half a dollar to have a print made of a digital pic, so if someone orders a pic and pays $5 there is plenty of extra cash to split up.

multiply that by 50 photographers uploading and selling pics ...

might be worthwhile if done correctly

We already do that in clubs ... thousands of pics on barbuzz.net :)

because i am taking pics of them without telling them, very candid shots

maybe a couple holding hands walking under a tree ...

maybe the face of a baby when he is being pushed on a swingset ...

candid moments that people may find to be special, but never thought to bring a camera

or is this illigal to take pics and post them on the site without written consent?

if you really did have a good idea that you thought could work, would you really post it to a public message board.
