The traffic that we sell is fairly unique and we've found that it generates superior conversions. All our traffic comes from ConsumptionJunction.com, SteakandCheese.com, Freakhole.com and Revengeworld.com. These are all surfer destination sites. They're all free, but don't mistake them for TGPs. These sites are all daily-updated content archives containing all the funny/crazy/shocking multimedia content that people email around to one another. We're like the perfect fluffers for adult traffic.
There's nowhere on our sites that surfers can go and look at thousands of porn pics or vids. But we do have enough of an adult slant to attract visitors that will convert on adult sites. Instead of the hardened porn surfer that trolls the TGP's and Newsgroups looking for free porn, our surfer is your AOL type of surfer. They have no problem paying for porn.
Best of all, our 14,000,000 visitors a month all come from one source: WORD OF MOUTH. We've never advertised our sites and our search engine rankings are shit. Google doesn't like us :) It's simply that fact that we've been doing this since 1999. We create great sites that people love to visit and tell their friends about.
The way that we sell our traffic is really quite simple: we sell it for what we can make off it as an affiliate. You can't get more fair. Every month I pull a report that tells me how many clicks we sent to our affiliate partners. These are off our stats, not theirs. Next I look at how much money they paid us. Then I determine average revenue per click for each of our sites. I take the number of clicks that a particular ad spot did the month before and multiply it times this average revenue per click to come up with a price. That's it.
The bottom line is that you as a site owner can make more off our traffic than we can as an affiliate because you're getting all the revenue from that click. Revenue that you wouldn't necessarily pay us on as an affiliate: cross-sells, email collection, all the exit consoles, dialer rev, all the rebills, etc..
