Format C:
If i format the HDD of one of my other computers, will the BIOS still be in tact and have the presence of mind to boot from my windows installation CD after reboot or will it be a dead HDD?
seriously... i'm technically declined. |
If you have bootable cdrom and booting from cdrom enabled in bios, it should boot for example windows installation from yor cdrom.

You can format C: as part of the installation process.
That way, you can be sure that you can boot from the CD. |
