hum...nope not me

I've stopped now, but I was taking it reguilarily. Works awesome, noticed results within a week. Make sure you're drinking tons of water (4+ litres a day), or you'll dehydrate.

I normally eat a lot of protein anyway, but I would take a creatine shake (50g of protein included) and then a can of tuna after every workout (every two days). Recommend the same to everyone looking for fast gains.

SlickRick 06-14-2004 04:28 PM

I was taking it for about 4 months (other reasons then bulking up) Saw a slight change though.

no good...it's just temporary muscle enlargement...all it does is put more water molecules into your muscles making them big...once you stop taking it, you will drop in size so fast...:2 cents:

angeleyes 06-14-2004 04:48 PM

Creatine is good stuff, it really helped me gain muscle mass in my legs in a very short time. I got sick and was ordered not to work out for a month so I'm back tracking and going to start taking it again, but it works very well........drink a TON of water with it.

bill555 06-14-2004 04:48 PM

the first ten days you will notice a nice change. After that its a waste of money.

Its most suited for coming off a anabolic steriod cycle. to help keep gains.

angelsofporn 06-14-2004 04:51 PM

it increases your torque when working out within the first 4-5 days.
You can especially notice the strength difference when mountian biking or just lifting weights

bllott 06-14-2004 04:56 PM

I took that shit and stopped.. after like 1 years I found my old creatine and it didn't have an expiry date.. so i took some and I almost died man, I was throwing up and shitting blood for a while.. the mother fuckers didn't put an expiry date, even tho that shit is a salt and it's gets oxidized into some salt variants that can be deadly.. either way i got out of it alive, I woulsn't waste money on that shit even if it gives you an edge, it has to do mostly with psychological advantages rather than a significant edge in performance.. you'll be shocking your kidneys for no reason while maybe being able to lift and get ther results of a 6 month work out in 5.5 months.. beter just make a more intense workout

:thumbsup

i'm suing that mother fucken company

Creatine is a little bit overrated but still good. It's not effective for everyone.

It's probably the best supplement for natural bodybuilders. Creatine is a 100% natural amino acid and it's present in your body and in animals.

Creatine allows you to train at a higher intensity level (so you will lift more) and to recover faster.

If you plan to stay healthy take it you have nothing to lose.

why would i stop taking it?

Downtime 06-14-2004 05:50 PM

I'm on creatine burst, works real well as long as you lift 4-5 times a week for a few hours each day. Great energy booster that really helps you get stronger quicker.

To anyone who says its just "temporary" is a fool; if you stop LIFTING you'll decrease in size regardless if you took anything beforehand. Stop working out and you'll lose your added size and strength; so yeah if you stop lifting and stop taking creatine do the math.

You will NOT drop in size if you stop taking it even if you still keep lifting regularely, I am proof.

cycles... not good to take too long

wvuatl 06-14-2004 05:53 PM

It works great when you start taking it.. maybe gain 5 lbs and get 10 lbs stronger..

Will make you look a bit bloated...

When you stop taking it you keep nothing! You'll loose it all.

Most people now just take it every day, no cycles or breaks.

5 gm per day is all you need... loading is a waste.

that's all i know about creatine..

emthree 06-14-2004 06:02 PM

Could you guys please recommend a specific creatine product?

I'm also interested in looking into this, so far I have done everything naturally. I usually hit the weights once every two days, leaving one out for relaxation and rebuilding of muscle fibers.

Most Creatines are all the same... the stuff with kool-aid favor just has dextrose sugar in it... you can just get Gatorade powder (not liquid) for that...

http://bodybuilding.com has a good forum where you can learn lots...

Most people can train 5 days per week and leave 2 days for recovery... some BB train every day with help from plenty of sauce...

Took it, but was also taking loads of Designer Protein and Hydroxycut with Ephedra at the same time, plus pumping the iron regularly, so was not a controlled experiment....:ak47:

ScottMN 06-14-2004 06:21 PM

took it, like it, but also worried about the long term effects. They say it won't hurt long term, but really, who is "they" anyway? Most of the time, I find that "they" have no clue. Consequently, the kidney worry paired with the small gains I saw, led me to stop.

Creatine has only been used for about 10 years or so I believe. So the long term effects are still unknown.

What were your results? (assuming you no longer take the above)

I doubt anything too serious can become of it, but is there any known incidents so far?

good post

take creatine for two days and go make exams after two months. The results will still show increased levels of creatine. Take ephedrine for one day and have a doctor after a week to try perform you narcosis for a surgery. He'll need up to 3 times the normal drug quantity to achieve it. Human body works exactly like a machine. Fueling your system with more than needed and expect to have both gains and loses/damages. Creatine sellers will tell you it's 100% safe. That's not true and it's still early to say. I don't think few cycles will cause you any future problem, but taking it in regular basis probably it will and you know something? doesn't worth it :-)

I don't think so. Creatine is found naturally in fish and some other foods, but in order to get the same amount of creatine from just fish, you'd have to eat a barrel or so...

ScottMN 06-14-2004 06:49 PM

Just because it's found naturally in the environment doesn't mean it's good to take fat quantities. I hear that argument a lot (oh wait, our websites use it:thumbsup ). Iron is also found in meat, but taking too much of that will kill you.

Viper2K1 06-14-2004 06:50 PM

i use creatine for a while now, works good for me
it's used in almost every sport today, it's not on the banned list
a steak has also creatine in it :Graucho

everything can be bad for you if you use too much of it, even water can be bad if you drink too much of it.

true, it's mostly the water in your muscles that make them look bigger, but a muscle filled with water absorbs other things better also. (atleast that's what i've been told on a bodybuilding forum hehe)

I take 5 grams pure creatine a day, half before and half after the workout
just make sure you take it with enough water, and drink the creatine as soon as you do it in your water.

i mostly do it in my post workout shake (whey protein, dextrose + creatine)

I never said it was good for you...

I stopped taking it because I wasn't 100% sure about the side effects...all I take now is whey protein

I also recently started using honey pre-workouts :thumbsup

http://www.pioneerthinking.com/honeyexercise.html

Pre-Exercise ? Studies at the University of Memphis Exercise and Sports Nutrition Laboratory found that honey may be one of the most effective forms of carbohydrate to ingest just prior to exercise. Honey eaten before exercise is digested easily and released into the system at a steady rate for use by the body.

Ya im actually taking it now. The best creatine to by is Celtec. Its not the straight creatine powder. Anyway you have to really work out with it. since creatine is basically all water weight, you have to go to the gym. Some people have to load up and take it 3 times a day for the first week. Some dont. I only need to take it twice daily for a week..It all depends but it will make u fat if you take it and dont go to the gym

I was stronger than I ever was, was ordering Designer Protein in bulk and drinking about 30 grams with water every 2.5 hours. - in addition to creatine with water--although I never really believed in the creatine.

At the same time I was taking the maximum daily amount of Ephedra that was considered safe, and did that for over a year with no adverse side effects.
-- and my body fat was lower than ever.
