So My Little Brother Is In Jail (Again) in 'Vegas
 

A few weeks back I was on a houseboat on Shasta Lake in Northern California. On the Friday I got off the boat, my dad called me to let me know that I'd been arrested the night before in Las Vegas, more than 700 miles away from Lake Shasta.

I found that amusing. Turns out my little brother, who knows ALL my info including Driver's License number and social security number, passed himself off as me. And was arrested for "failure to appear" on tickets that he'd received a few months ago using MY information again.

He said he used my information because he didn't think there were warrants out for MY arrest, but knew there were warrants out for HIS arrest (as mentioned in the last paragraph, there were indeed warrants out for MY arrest because he used my name on traffic citations a few months before and then "failed to appear" - I knew nothing about them).

Anyway... I called a detective in 'Vegas and told him that **I** definitely HAD NOT been arrested and could prove that I was 700+ miles north at the time. He asked me to go to a local police station to be fingerprinted to compare my prints to those of the person arrested in my name. I agreed to do so.

In the meantime, I called my little brother and told him that he needed to decide what he was going to do.

So yesterday, a few weeks after the incident described above, he decides to use my info AGAIN when question by a cop. Only this time the cops had my name flagged, knowing that someone might try to pass themself off as ME again.


WHAT SORT OF DUMB ASS WOULD TRY TO PASS HIMSELF OFF AS ME AGAIN KNOWING THAT THE COPS WERE AWARE THAT MY ID WAS WRONGFULLY USED????

Now, for impersonating me and providing false information to a law enforcement officer, I wouldn't be surprised if he receives at least a year.

To prove that all the tickets in my name in Las Vegas were not supposed to be in my name, and that I had not been arrested (and subsequently bailed out). I have nothing to hide.

Also, I was formerly in the US Navy, so my prints are already on file.

I used to, but he kept getting in more and more trouble. So I stopped. Now he always demands that his wife spend money they can't afford to spend to bail him out. And she does it.

He's addicted to Meth and refuses to get help. The meth addiction leads to all sorts of trouble.

My brother did some shit like this a few years ago. Even went as far as go down to the DMV to use my info and get a DL with his picture on it.

ahh ok, I understand now. I've never understood how people can take drugs like that. It's not like it's a big secrect what you will turn into if you take them. I mean what part of becoming a crack head or a meth junkie looks good to people.

hard problem - addicts have to hit rock bottom and want help - until then there's nothing you can do but bail him out or go the tough love route and ignore him.
