Civic Vs Echo

Major price difference. I could get a BRAND NEW Echo for 179 a month... or a 2000 model Civic se with warantee for 121 bi-weekly

PenisFace 06-13-2004 10:22 PM

Go with the civic, just because the echo is so goddamed ugly.

Might I recomend an 04 civic SI?

Madd 06-13-2004 10:22 PM

In Canada everyone has echos, they're everywhere. I care about which is better off in the long run safety and repair and performance wise, not how many are owned.

DUDE TAKE YOUR TIME AND LOOK AROUND, I BOUGHT A NEW 4X4 AND OUT OF THE 10 DEALERS I WENT THRU 2 DIDNT TRY TO SCREW ME. THE ONE THAT DID IT ALL THE WAY AND THE PRICE I WANTED GOT THE SALE. DONT LET THOSE DEALERS DICTATE THE CAR YOU WANT. MY SIS PICKED UP A 04 CIVIC AND SHE PAYS 210 A MONTH AND PUT DOWN 3 GRAND.

riosluts 06-13-2004 10:48 PM

The Echo for $179 a month, is that a lease or is it a loan

iwantchixx 06-13-2004 10:56 PM

shit, just checked, it's lease.

CheeseFrog 06-13-2004 10:59 PM

I vote for the Civic. But then again I'm a little biased in that area :)

iwantchixx 06-13-2004 11:02 PM

I wish I coudl find out what is the diference between an SE and EX-g model. There's a 3k difference in price.

woj 06-13-2004 11:40 PM

Between those 2, I would pick a civic...

SlickCash Brock 06-14-2004 11:07 AM

I worked for honda for 6 years tell me what you want and where you are i will get you a deal you can't refuse on the car you want. I still have so many friends in the biz

Go with the civic and i'll explain why

The echo's havent been in production as long as the Civics have. When a car first enters the market for the first time (or first few years) you want to stay clear from it because if they decide to stop production on the car parts for it will skyrocket.

Next is the North American car companies VS European/Asian car companies... There is NO comparison between them and NA looses. I know civics which have lasted past 300k as long as you take care of it...i'd love to see a Ford do that :P

Parts and service
You'll be more likely to find parts used/new in the future when its time to start fixing shit on it with a Civic than you would with a Echo, just think how many of them are out there.

HOWEVER, if you're "leasing" with no intention of actually buying the car when the lease is done then it'll make no difference and i would go with the one you'd have more fun in!

NiTe-HaWk 06-14-2004 11:52 AM

Civic deffenitley. It is one of the cars I am thinking about getting.

candyflip 06-14-2004 12:00 PM

You can get a brand new VW Jetta for $189

So for $10 more per month you get at least 2x the car.

Now I see you own a VW already. They'll give you another $1000 to work with in their VW Owners Loyalty program.

New VW's are shit. Not one person I know plans to even keep theirs and others have traded them in for american cars.. that says a lot. Ever since '94 (ironicaly the same year they moved production to Brazil) they've been death traps and money pits. Most ocmmon problems are the motors and shattering driver side windows on highway.

iwantchixx 06-14-2004 06:20 PM

We have decided on getting a Civic. It's better for the long run. Went looking at tons today. Almost settled on a 2000 model Se until he showed us a 2001 DX-G last minute and we fell in love with it. It also works out cheaper for the 2001 model since it's a 6 year loan. Best part of it all? Not a fucking stitch of rust anywhere. That's amazing since we live in a very salty area.
