Thumb TGP's Thumb Sizes

I don't see many new sites starting as 88x88 only ones I see are the older big established sites that have always had 88x88.

88x88 is very popular, in fact a lot of tgps are switching to this from other sizes.. 90x120 is also a popular size.. 118x118 and 100x100 are on a few too.. I don't bother with the stupid odd sized ones though, I'm not into having to make a different thumb for every fucking tgp. Waste of time, and it's hardly worth the few hits those tgps generally send. I haven't found many exceptions to that rule :0

I would agree..which is why I asked.

It seems as though the thumbs are just getting bigger and bigger.

Pretty soon we'll have thumb tgps with just 3 tables each holding one huge 500x500 thumb...LOL

yea when I started my first TGP, I started it as a 88x88 I switched it to 90x120 and the productivity went way up. I'm pretty happy with 90x120 thumb size but I picked up a design here on GFY a few days ago using 100x150. so I figure I'll give it a try and see how it dose. But I think that's as big as I'll ever go..

most of mine are 100x100 and 120x120, but i'm actually switching them all to 90x120 when i finish converting them all to comus because i like the look better

I came up with that at a time back in early 2002 when I had never even seen a thumb tgp -- I was so clueless I thought it was my own idea. So I can't claim there was any thought process behind choosing that size, it didn't matter much on a tiny hand-crafted TGP that didn't trade traffic and got a few hundred hits a day.

Don't know if I'd choose 150x100 again knowing what I know now -- it gets pricey in bandwidth -- but it's making me money so I'll stick with it.

One site I submitted to had a rediculous 89 x 119 forced..

Maybe that filters shitty submitters - only serious TGP creators will post there...

I dunno...
