so how was the stepford wives

HS-Trixxxia 06-12-2004 11:47 PM

We just got back from watching it - quite frankly we both liked it. The special effects were good and the end was a preparation for a follow-up I think.....All in all, I really liked it.

It was pretty bad.

I believe 'The Chronicles of Riddick' is the prequel to 'Pitch Black',
so you shouldn't have missed anything narrative-wise.

Watch Pitch Black anyway. Pitch Black was R-rated. Chronicles is PG-13.
This character does not belong in a PG-13 movie. :NopeNope

skinnay 06-13-2004 03:55 AM

did anyone else think the way they wrote RIDDICK on the ads, was trying to subtly [edit: or not so] suggest BIGDICK?

i bet they were.. those sick marketing focus groups..

The Chronicles of Riddick is set like 8 years after they left the planet on Pitch Black

Sure it's not 8 years prior? Every site I have checked has said it is a prequel. I am going to see it next weekend.

It's actually 5 years after..

"The further adventures of Riddick (Vin Diesel) continue five years later, as the escaped convict with the ability to see in the dark finds himself caught in the middle of a galactic war between two opposing forces, with the key figure being the Lord Marshal (Colm Feore), the leader of a sect called the Necromongers waging the "10th Crusade" in the 26th century. Helping Riddick is Aereon (Judi Dench), the Ambassador of the "Elemental" race, who helps Riddick unearth the secrets of his origin and Kyra (Alexa Davalos), who has grown up since Riddick knew her as a preteen girl in the first movie. Attempting to free himself and Kyra from a subterranean prison, Riddick ends up on board the Necromonger flagship, where he gets his chance to face off against the Lord Marshal in a battle over the future of all beings in the galaxy, both living... and dead."

Sequels (that are afterthoughts) are never as good as the first. It wasn't Pitch Black, but it was a good way to spend a couple of hours on Friday night.

Kitty, even your reviews rock..............you're a very sexy being :)

You know... I went to this movie knowing it would suck, and I was still disappointed.

The reason for this is, I think Vin Diesel is fucking hot... I mean... wow... ouch..hot!

But he didn't even take his shirt off! No closeups of his ass???

I say the whole thing was a waste of my cash.

bllott 06-13-2004 09:54 PM

that movie was a complete piece of shit

I attended the premiere last week surprise to say I enjoyed it very much, whether you like or hate a movie is up you. we're all entitled to our views and opinions, can't please everyone.

Bansheelinks 06-14-2004 12:22 AM

I just took it for what it was..........and liked it. I'll tell you I found it more interesting than Day After Tomorrow, which was merely ok and boring at times.

:2 cents:
