Hey Lighting...whats up with the popups?
 

I had a friend interested in using a free hosting company for his galleries.

I heard a lot of good things about your company so I thought I would check things out for him...but when I clicked on the Lightning Free banner at the bottom of this page, I was bombarded with a never ending chain of popups and new windows.

Are those popups the norm of your hosting services? Or do they only happen when a surfer reaches a 404?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There's no pop-ups except for 404 pages. They are a very good freehost.

It looks like they are the cleanest freehost around. I don't see any popups, and they have great taste in sponsors.

Exoticca, sorry about that, We have a fairly intense set up, with fully redundant, mirrored servers, all operated with a raid, We are working all this week on our new rack of servers, getting ready to launch some new and cool stuff. What must have happened to you is that when you hit the link, we had the server that your call was goin to down or in the middle of resolving DNS. Thats why you got a 404. No FTP, but with its reputation I'd say that the tradeoff is worth it. Plus isn't FTP something that is too easy for webmasters to cheat with or something>?

I usually get a 404 error from about 25% of the Lightning Free galleries submitted to me. Is this an unusual occurrence? I'm getting really familiar with that blue 404 page.
