Damn, that's one hell of a nice rack, he he. My first rack looked a little different than that one though, it looked more like 2 mellons, he he.

Wizdom, thats pretty cool. Our servers are right across the street from that mae east room. We are at Level 3 in Mclean Va.
I'm about 30 mins without traffic from there, I visit my babies all the time.. The actual room my racks are in is as big as a football field with 1000 racks, its like totally cool. The entire bldg is maximum security, you need to be palm scanned to get in and even after that you have security badges you need all over. I get this awesome rush feeling when i'm in there, you can just feel all the data being transferred running through your bones. You would like it.

I used to work for an ISP in the DC area and used to take trips to fix our mae east routers all the damn time http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/wink.gif That is probably one of the oddest facilities I've ever seen, however most of the traffic is being moved out to Ashburn to the new UUNet campus out there... thats theoretically where "mae-east-atm" is located... although you'd never really notice it, since most of the atm drops right onto your providers backbone.. very nice stuff... BTW, That level 3 facility is sweet in McLean... but the bandwidth has gotta be $$.. less your going thru a reseller...

Our bandwidth is pretty reasonable, we have a 1 gigabit pipe...

1Gbits pipe! Shit, I can just imagine my Q3A pings! Seriously, you gotta think about the small countries that have only 4.5Mbits total bandwith available for their entire population... (Thats 3X T1 speed)
