Online enemies? (dirty laundry)
 

What's up with some webmasters hating others? I saw a tgp that had a rule "no ads for AP, or anything having to do with Lensman" and I can't imagine why someone would feel that strongly about our sweet Lensman (who just sent me a t-shirt).

Sexhound has the motherfuckers page cursing Zilla and Humbolt. (and probably me soon since I'm mentioning it)

I've been doing this for 3 years now, and I don't hate anyone, and (to my knowledge) no one hates me. I've dealt with all these guys, one way or the other and haven't seen a reason to hate any of them.

I'd love to hear what you guys are fighting about, or what's pissed you off so much. (and it'd be a hell of an interesting thread)

Yeah, it's kind of like gossiping, but it's a fuck of a lot more interesting then "what kind of toothpaste do you like?"

it's easier to hate someone than to accept it if they are better then you.....

I think our industry is just very competitive, more so than the case should be, but sometimes there are good reasons, for example according to the hun, actually his script, it said that he will not link to a gallery that has a link to worldsex, and it went on to say that worldsex had screwed the hun out of some money a while back. Now that seems to me like a legit reason not to like someone. But that's just me and it might have all been a halucination

I've had domains banned by TGPs because I owned other domains (not the page posted) that had sponsor banners they didn't like. I had a domain banned by because the TGP owner thought I owned another domain (CJ) he didn't like. (I didn't own it.)

My impression with the "ready-to-ban-and-hate-you-at-the-drop-of-a-hat" crowd, is: I'm dealing with a bunch of 12 year old girls, desperate to protect their self anointed authority over who is "in" and who is "out" on their tiny patch of the playground. In general, I feel sorry for them for a moment, then move on.

Then go back to posting on their sites using the next available domain. :-)

All you gotta do is read the hall of shame archives to realize that some people really try to screw me, and they get pissed when they get caught.

Sure in a way it's competitive, but also we're one of the few professions in the world that advertises the competition. All TGP's (except the Hun) trade traffic with other TGPs. CEN sends it's exit traffic to Maximumcash. I'd think that a situation like that would be more likely to foster friendliness than not.

I'm just curious as to what would drive someone to make a "I hate him and if you don't hate him I hate you too" rule. Someone else actually brought it up in another thread.

I have read those Lensman, some of them are pretty good. http://bbs.gofuckyourself.com/board/smile.gif I mean if the guy had a problem with your program (or vice-versa) and he said "I recommend you don't use AP, they screwed me!" that's one thing (especially if he really believed it - some disputes just can't get resolved). It's going a little further trying to punish someone who DOES like your program.

The bottom line is "Its all about money and power" The best thing is when you treat it as a business and be professional. This is a stressful business, a sales job to say the least. I'm a peace-loving guy, don't want to foster any problems anyone has with anyone - especially since I probabaly know someone from each side and would feel "in the middle"

Its all good , I understand what you are saying. In my time on the web, i have seen alot of bullshit. (can I say that on here?)
