I need hardware advice..... Building new computer....
Hey guys. I am building a new system, but I want to use my old hard drives in it. I have (2) 250GB WD drives in my current box and I don't want to format them/etc. Is it possible to implant them into the new machine without having to reinstall Windows XP?
I hope this makes sense...... :( |

The cleanest install would be to assemble the new computer with whatever parts you want and install a fresh copy of Win XP onto a formatted drive.
Back up all of your files from one of the drives (to the other one if enough space is available) and format that drive with the Win XP cd. Just pulling a hard drive with an operating system on it from one computer to a new one with different components is a recipe for a lot of headaches. |
