Simple linux weblog with remote updating
I'm looking for a really simple *nix based weblog package that has a tool (it's own or third-party) for doing browser based updates (you find an article online and click something in your browser to post it). I'd like it to write static HTML pages rather than being dynamically driven.
It should also be able to use XML/RSS incoming feeds. Outgoing isn't a big deal. I've used Moveable Type in the past and really don't want to go through the installation and tweaking process again :) Any thoughts? Gracias in advance! |
I'm not sure about the browser posting feature, but many MT users are migrating to Wordpress www.wordpress.org. Although I haven't used it personally, I understand that it is a breeze to install and configure.

I was screwing around on the server and found Word Press.. heh - I hadn't looked at CPanel on this site yet. Clicked Fantastico, saw Word Press listed, installed it automagically, and just finished playing with the settings.
It looks simple and easy to use. I think all I need to do is check for security updates and do a new style sheet for it. It has a built-in gimmick that lets you drag a URL to your browser Links bar or favorites, and when you hit a page you want to blog on, click the button and a form pops up so you can post directly. Freakin sweet! It also has blog by e-mail built in. That's pretty cool too. Thanks for the tip! |
