Moving: How many times have you moved in your life?

LadyM's thread made me think about how I hate to move.

I have moved constantly my entire life.

I went to 6 different elementary schools in just 6 years, 1 jr. high, and 2 high schools.

Since I graduated from High School I have lived in 5 different states and 15 different residences and I'm only 37.

I hate moving, but honestly it's become such a way of life that I'm getting that itch again...looking at the North West and possibly back to Colorado.

AMADude 06-11-2004 11:29 AM

I can't even remember how many times.
I have lived in:
New Castle, PA
Wichita, KS
Reno, NV
Redondo Beach, CA
Sherman Oaks, CA
Simi Valley, CA
Lake Elsinore, CA
Farmington Hills, MI
Novi, MI
Las Vegas, NV
:glugglug

D-man 06-11-2004 11:29 AM

I have moved to - NYC - LA twice - Las Vegas twice - in the DC area at least 4 times - and finally here to Ohio -

moving is the most stressful thing you can do in your life - I hate doing it but I got real good at it - last time it took a 24 foot and a 18 foot truck -

PrivateIvy 06-11-2004 11:41 AM

My parents moved us around all the time when I was growing up....all over North Carolina, Alabama and Indiana.

Every time I was just getting settled and making friends, we would move again:(

I think this is the reason I never have any really close friends.....

:(

Sosa 06-11-2004 12:00 PM

I've moved about 6-7 times. My mom was always moving for school when I was younger.

RP Fade 06-11-2004 12:02 PM

I've moved apx. 10 times within a 20 mile radius lol..

fuzebox 06-11-2004 12:05 PM

When I was born my parents weren't even 20 yet, so as a baby I was probably moved between a dozen different dorms, basement suites, etc (and spent 4-8 months in Montreal as well).

From my earliest memories at 3-4 years old to 18, I rememeber moving 10 times (a couple were only for a few months, after my father separated, remarried, separated, reconciled, etc).

Since moving out of home 4 years ago, I've moved 4 times, and in 2 weeks it'll be my 5th :)

MaxDent 06-11-2004 12:05 PM

I've moved over 55 times in my short 29 years on this planet.

jacked 06-11-2004 12:08 PM

3 times thats nothing compared to you guys and they were all within the same 2 towns ha :1orglaugh

mindoza 06-11-2004 12:08 PM

6 times all within a 20 mile radius.

LixKitty 06-11-2004 12:18 PM

I was born in Tucson, AZ, started school in Duncan, AZ, moved to Morenci, AZ, then to Clifton, AZ, then to Mesa, AZ, a 3 month stay in Houston, TX before returning to Mesa only to relocate again back to Tucson only to move into three different school districts in one school year for fifth grade.

Suddenly we moved back to Texas to El Paso where I spent a year and FINALLY...settled back down in ...Tucson again for the rest of School. I moved around alot after HS, mostly trying to move away from home only to end up broke and living with my parents again. Then I fell in love, got engaged and moved to Zanesville, OH. Then I left his dumb ass and moved to Pittsburg, PA for a month. Then, I moved to Vegas to stay with my Mom who had ALSO relocated. And this is where I rest.

Vegas Rulz!!

molotov 06-11-2004 12:23 PM

arial 06-11-2004 12:25 PM

ArikaAmes 06-11-2004 12:25 PM

Raven 06-11-2004 12:38 PM

Russia
Philadelphia (multiple moves within the state)
Texas
Kansas
Florida
Colorado
Washington
Georgia
Washington

Those are the moves I remember. I'm sure there are others; but, most likely, I only stayed for a few months, so it doesn't count.

Never Again, if I can help it.

Tera 06-11-2004 12:44 PM

Get a surge protector for that TV, I've had too many TV's burn out on me before just because I didn't have a surge protector. :2 cents:
