How much would you pay for good full time designer?
 

Just wondering... How much does a good full time web designer earn a month? And where?

define 'good' your version of good and my version of good are going to be two seperate things ;)

mmm.. it depends.. "good" it's a mere description... please specify skills the designer needs to have.

It always depends where you work ... I pay my good one 20 $ an hour ... he works average 60 hours a week so he earns almost 5k a month ... He likes the job . Im sure he could make more thought ;)

I would say...depending on how qualified & experienced the designer & where you are working (both location & company) the range would be anywhere from $2k/month to $9k/month.

sadly, I'm on the lower end of that scale. :(

The designer I pay 5k does pretty much anything ... flash illustration etc.

Nothing less then 4 000 if he is good.

2k a month + $100-$500 bonus on each completed project depending on quality and speed.

Uhh.. I'd like to see a GOOD designer go for those prices.. unless he cranks up 3 $500 bonus sites per week.

I don't really like paying people on a timed basis, I rather pay on productivty.

I close average 6K a month in design services alone.
Sometimes more. Sometimes less.

On a more serious note you goto look at the package...

How many of these schleps are offering medical/dental as well? How about 401K...
Look for a regular review period and raise.
Ask for Profit Sharing if available.

There are alot of chips on the table when actually hiring someone period.

If your a designer seriously consider your options usually you will be able to make more on your own, aside from the fact that most that hire you full time and exclusive are only interested in paying you enough to "Survive" not get ahead...

Even with all the Hack outsource whores...

Ya get what ya pay for so if your hiring consider that in itself.
Not to mention your prolly taking advantage of some poor sott in a digital sweat shop...
