There is this thing called the senate, they already said they will not change any of these laws. We dont have death penalty for the past 30 years, they already said it's a thijg of the past and not in their lifetime it will come back.

Is there going to be a big clearing and firing of people from government run facilities? NO... basically the same people will keep their same job, and those who are in government have to make sure they keep the oil companies and friends who gave millions to their campaign happy.

Well the NPD is the party for you, they are really really really left.

maybe, just I think we are fooling ourselves to think that changing governments really means canada itself is going to change or policies. the same government facilites stay open and programs - and we all know that government has nothing to do wiht price on gas.. its OPEC.

we make enough oil here in canada to look after ourselves, but we cant sell it to ourselves because of opec... and oil companies.. NDP hasnt be tainted too much, but sadly .. who ever gets in there isnt going to make much change.

A minority government is essentially powerless over making sweeping changes. All this will do is create instabilty in the house and cause a negative political view from the rest of the world. At least it is only 4 years of getting nothing done!

Has anyone ever taken the time to think of what the consequences would be if a party elect was allowed to execute all of their promises. I was just doing a little reading into what the platforms are. My God the chaos that would be created in this country if all of the promises were followed through on in the four years. There is no way it would ever happen. What would happen if a candidate just got up and tod the truth about the actions they would take while in power. If someone did it I would vote for them. All of this bullshitting and promises of grand reforms just pisses me off. To bad there are ppl out there who get sucked in by this. They just get out there and make hundreds of promises in hopes one will ring in the ears of a voter and sway them to their side. In realtiy though there is no possible way it would ever come to fruition during the reign. It reminds of my highschool when the person running for student body pres would get elected because he promised 3 hour lunch breaks, and smoking in class.

What people are failing to see, is that despite the overwhelming sentiment of annoyance at the liberal government, the new conservative party cannot even rally enough support to win an election.

This indicates that NOONE is really happy with any government in this election. I think if it was a Conservative minority government, it will be a sick 4 years. I'm certainly not in agreement with a lot of Liberal moves, but I think they are at least on the right track.

People have lost faith in all government lately. The political system in Canada is in shambles. There are no real parties anymore, they just whine about each other's moves, even if they are along the same lines as whatever sparse platform they have.

I will vote Liberal, just in hopes that they can squeak out another majority win and keep things at least even keel for now.
