Basicly I am going to setup an archive very simular to this site.

http://fuckherass.deluxepass.com

If you scroll down to the bottom you will notice for example: "preview.shtml?044"

Where the 044 loads the same page but the thumbs and description changes to the 44th movie.

Is this really that complicated?

Maybe I am not explaining it right. :question

I had a site bookmarked that showed how to do that with PHP but I can't seem to find it now.

Yeah I know it can be done with .php but I would prefer to do it in .shtml to keep things simple.

With .shtml would still need to be done in Perl. Correct me if I'm wrong someone been years since I've used Perl. PHP 4 Life!!!!!!!!

It's fairly significant programming, depending on exactly what you want to end up with.

You need to have someone develop a database to store all your picture, text and linking data, then build a backend of some kind so you can enter all that info.

There's a lot more you can do with a site like this.

BTW - it's not SHTML programming. They probably have .shtml mapped to PHP or Perl, etc..

www.sexreviewed.com

check the reviews pages. Basic idea of what you want. To just reload the page with the new data.

Not a lot of people here really know shtml huh?

UniqueMovies, its very simple.

What you do is this:

First you setup all your movies/thumbs in stnadard dirs like:
movies/001/....
movies/002/....

name the files all the same, same number of thumbs for each movie and so on.

then make one file for movie 001, and make that word without shtml or anything weird, just static basicaly.

Once you have that, replace all "001" references to this:
<!--#echo var="QUERY_STRING"-->

once thats done, you can load any video by opening the page with ?001 ?002 ?003 and so on

Good to know.

If you look closer, you'll see that it's not as simple as that. Each thumbnail preview has "text data" (a descripion of the set & it's contents) - so it's obviously pulled from a database or txt file.

It's pretty damn simple to do though, just whip up a MYSQL database and program a small add/edit admin.

So then you make another ssi call for the thumbnail text no biggie and if you have a few hours of time to invest there is no reason you couldnt have it done tomorrow :2 cents:

A few hours?

Its done, took him 10 minutes after I explained it.
