Questions regarding starting paysites..
 

Ok, my partner and I are looking into setting up our own paysite system.

We are considering starting with 10 models. Each model with her own site.

We would like to setup the system like every other paysite company, with an affiliate system for webmasters etc.

Here are my questions.

#1. What is the most common problem facing paysite owners?

#2. What is the best affiliate system used for these sites? We want dead accuracy. We never want to deal with anyone being able to say "they are shaving points" "they don't have accurate records" etc. We want a straight up and down system and we want it fully automated within the main site.

#3. What is the typical pay for a model when she is first signed up? Meaning, do we pay them an up front fee and then a percentage of her sites income? If so, what is the standard?

#4. Are there any standard model contracts used in this business? A template anywhere?

ANY advice, tips or input you could give would be GREATLY appreciated.

We are pretty sure we are going to do this and we want to do it right from the start.

Let's see how much money you guys can make by answering these questions.. :P

1. Lack of funding and or traffic sources.
2. Third party such as what ccbill offers.
3. Pay them per shoot. Save yourself the head ache and do not do percentage deals. Own everything yourself.
4. Yes, talk to a lawyer. Do not use someone elses "template" unless your willing to walk into court with a defending yourself for dummies book in hand.

i have a few paysites, i will attempt to answer a few of these

1. retention, keeping members there....once you got em, you have to keep em...and it can be hard

2. i think the new mpa3 or NATS...any affiliate software can be built to shave, PERIOD....and if you do tons of volume, you will eventually be accused, just a way of the biz...

3. there is no standard for models pay in regards to doing sites....i have girls on a percentage and also flat fee....girls can end up being lazy and cost you the site, so I would go with a percentage for her.

4. get your lawyer to draw up a fresh contract for your situation, don't depend on someone elses contract to fuck you down th road

advice: don't do it unless you know what the fuck your doing, and it doesn't sound like you do...paysites are the hardest way to make money and the worst thing for a newbie to get into

Good luck getting straight answers on this board. I'd suggest PM'ing some of the industrys sponsor owners and hoping they feel like giving out some good info =)

You'll have a ton of problems as a paysite owner. You'll have to balance your finances between your content/feeds/bandwidth, etc versus what you're making. You'll also have to worry about legal issues, people hacking your sites and stuff like that. Getting a full working site desiged and live is a problem in itself.

Pretty much, you're going to need a good chunk of money to ensure that you can properly build the site, fill it with content, and then promote it afterward so that you're not sitting on your thumbs months later with no members and pilling bills.

There's lots of programs that use their own proprietary stats systems, and then there are 3rd party stat systems that some programs use. which you use depends on your $$.

I know nothing about paying models.

Again you might wanna talk to the more successful program owners one on one =)

to make real money in the paysite biz, number one issue is always traffic. lots and lots of traffic.

Whats considered a chunk of money?
$5,000, 10k, 50k?

Is setting up as an AEN affiliate a partial solution?
 

Seems like then we're only talking about content/model considerations and if you have 2257 docs and a good model contract, everything else is covered by virtue of being "under the AEN umbrella"...at least as a newb.
