Transfering domains from person to person
 

Have any of you done this? What's the procedure? I have DirectNIC right now...

have the person submit a request from the registrar they use. you'll get an email asking you to approve the transfer request that's it. . . takes up to a week at times
directnic may have internal transfers where they can transfer to an already existing customer but I dont know . Call them and ask. THat'll be much quicker than playing around here.

unless you got the money upfront

to simply transfer an existing directnic domain to another directnic accnt. Have the new owner submit a reg transfer request from his directnic accnt and you'll receive an email to approve it. that simple. takes less than a day.

if they want it transfered to another registrar
they'll submit a transfer request, you'll get an email to approve the transfer. Will take few days to complete.

make sure your domain is unlocked for any transfer to go through.
