Whats the Best Affiliate prog design/logo

EpicCash of course is numero uno, but which program comes 2nd?

abyss_al 06-09-2004 11:52 PM

not EpicCash.... silvercash has a nice logo...very modern and smooth, something you remember after seeing it once... EC is too plain, just made 3d thats all

I'm biased, but www.gunzblazing.com would be in the top ten :)

never seen max payne, and the whole site is gun themed, pretty hard not to have gunshots when the theme is so gun dominated heheh.

psyko514 06-10-2004 12:15 AM

lol, yeah right the high contrast black and white thing in flash has been around long before some silly game came out lol.

i'll admit repetitive gunshots can get annoying fast of course.

ahh..cmon, you're telling me they did not bite off the game? bullshit... everything matches the game... am i the only one who sees this?

the aff site was created in 2003... max payne has been around since 1997 if i remeber well, and they have always had that look.

I'm telling you straight. I know because I designed it.
I wanted something a little bit different from all the cold blue steel programs out there and decided to go for a pop art feel.. the vector video style goes very well with pop art and thats why the video is shot in that style which was the last thing to be decided on after the non flash parts.
if it's a rip off of anything it's from the original creators of the vector video style back in '96 - '97 posted on the flashpad when they did a short story in black and white and had someone with a gun.

and the matrix...

sad.. I was aiming for the matrix... and now i find max payne has used the same type of thing, like countless other vector video sites. I can't load the maxpayne site, but i can see from the preview panes that it's going to be very similar. Don't worry, I mean obviously they're similar but it's totally unintentional, they're relatively standard techniques, the max payne people pretty much would have been inspired by the same people I was.
there is nothing new in the world. And even though i could probably find a dozen other similar ones that mine and maxpayne could be accused of "copying" I thought I had a pretty unique looking site.. obviously not.

im not saying its a bad design... i think its better that all the 'cool blue' desings with the shiny shit... they all look the same...its different and creative, and even more creative if you hadnt seen max payne... to me its a bite off of it... but your description gives me a different perspective of it...

Oh I would have said the same thing if i had seen maxpayne first and hadn't known the history of vector movies from an old school flash users perspective too... for sure, i would have called it a ripoff too. but I don't bullshit. if I had have ripped it off I would have said so, and to be honest, wouldn't have cared what you thought about me stealing it, im usually a bit of an asshole here and speak my mind, but i didn't steal it so it kinda sucks lol, I'm going to try and find this first flash vector movie from like 7 years ago.. heheh.
It's pretty easy to understand my thought process though, im going for a pop art style and vector movies fit the style very well - i couldn't do normal video like i usually do.. because it wouldn't fit in with the style.. i basically HAVE to use vector video.. also the site is called gunzblazing and is supposed to be gun and action themed.. i'd probably just seen matrix 2 - that first kneeling frame is suppsed to be like trinity when she lands after crashing her bike into the building - when you can see the decision making process you can see it's a kind of natural progression.. more natural if you know i like doing video in flash, and because this is my program i wanted to make it special.

but i don't blame you for thinking it's a rip.. i would myself.. unless you know where to look you won't come across black and white vector video with guns everyday :)
