Face the FACTS: The SIG market is DEAD. The buble bursted
We wen't from the start of the buble, which was $8,000 for a sig paid to BradShaw, and then for the month of May I believe Sleazy got $12,000, and boom, advertisers realsed that paying out these outrageous amounts for signatures is wastefull spending. When you go from $12000 for the high in one month, to $1200 for the high in the next month, that ladies and gentleman is the bursting of a buble.
What will happen next month? Well, ARS sigs are out, so now there is even more supply now in the market, and each month there is less demand, so naturally the prices will come crashing down next month I predict. There will only be the top guys who will be able to sell their sigs, but they will be able to get much much less than they have ever gotten, and therefore, a few will elect it's not worth it to even sell. Those who have made money from sigs in the past, congrats. Those days are long gone now. There are NO BUYERS left now, as most paid too much, and the SUMMER SLOWDOWN is here also, so most will not want to spend. When Lensman, who knows this board better than ANYONE goes from paying out $1000 a month to paying out playboy gear, you know the writing is on the wall. The sig market is DEAD. It was fun while it lasted. Discuss. |
I still make good money off of my sig :)
|
Blah.
all it takes is a program with money to want to have some fun. dead? hardly. there will always be new programs coming out and more money around here then ever. of course it wont be like it was during the first times. thats a given, but dont act like people wrent still going to pull a fewk around the beginning of month. |
speak for yourself... :1orglaugh
|
oh btw... see sig.
|
lot's of folks say it's my fault the sig market is dead. it's really Lensman fault. he got a little mad when Bradshawww got $8k and no one even asked to buy Lensman sig:(

I doubt any of you guys will be able to sell your sigs for more than $1000 a month from now on, actually, most of the big dawgs will probably get around $500-$750 a month, and that is for the top dawgs, maybe with an exception here and there. For all the little guys with even 5K posts, I doubt many of them will even get $100. What is happening in the sig market is exactly what happened in the stock market. There is NO justification for someone getting $12,000 for a sig for 1 month, none whatsoever. |
Here is what I think will happen: Most of the guys with under 10,000 posts will only be getting $100 a month, if that, for their sigs, so they will realize that it's better to actually put a sig that pays per webmaster refferal of lets say 5% or 10% instead of one that they get paid $100 per month for, because who knows, you might refer a webmaster who sends mad signups and you will make alot more money.
And just watch, it will be so hard to sell your sig next month for medium range posters (those under 10k posts) that most will stop trying after next month, and slowly, the sig market will die off completely. |

1k a month is fine. free money is free money. people need to realize some people KRL, and me for example, dont really need a sig. I can barely take on the work I get now let alone have a sig offering deals etc... nor do i want to just slap in a referral code, im not here to "refer" webmasters. up front sig money is kinda cool actually. my sig has become almost useless to me, why not offer it to others? i dont care what people say about how much they make with a wm refer sig, hit me with money up front and im cool. my sig has found me new clients and long term business partners. I would be dumb to not offer my sig to people, its landed me far more thousands worth of work than having my own sig :1orglaugh |
I've created a math formula (economic) to do a succes probability analysis for the SigMarket.
If you fill in the variables, you'll see it will only last a few years : http://www-math.cudenver.edu/~wchero...10/hw6ceq2.gif |
I usually trade my company's services for sig exposure.

SEE SIG!!!
I'm happy with TCG... :thumbsup |
i never made a penny from sigs
does that make ame a whore ?? |
I can't be the only person who questioned WTF a program was doing paying huge money for someones sig. Bradshaw, Aaronm and Sleazy were smart to sell their sigs but doesn anyone think the sponsors go their moneys worth?

Someone who signed up to Grasscity.com through my refferal a month ago has already made me a nice amount of change. I don't believe the SIG MARKET is dead, I just wish people would stop making sigs worthless with meaningless post. There's no reason for 100-200 People all promoting the same sig for a month, doesn't the value go down after a week!
|
what is this whole sig thing you have studied so hard?
and where can i get money for this sig thing? thanks in advance |
I sold my sig easier last month than in the previous months.
You sure its dead? |
AaronM sold his for more this month than any others thus far. No I won't tell you how much. It was pre-paid for in advance to ensure it was acquired.
So no, it's not dead. It is however on the demise, particularly for mid ranged posters. Those who still command the ranks, Sleazy, AaronM, Juicy, KRL and a few others... they can still cash in. Perhaps not as much as before, but they still can. The lower end people who will whore their faces off for $20 - $50 will also still get their paypal money in next month. It's those of us in the midrange that are left out in the cold. |
I've never tried selling my sig.

to be honest ars pays pretty dang well for those who are low on the todem poll
|
Who cares? sigs are a convenient means to make some extra cash. Found money actualy :)
But with a little work sigs can make you MUCH more. You just have to think outside the box :) |
Sig market is dead?
You just have to be creative. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |

I am just pointing out the facts, which is that the sig market is dying. You guys can be in denial about it though. You all remind me of the investors who kept loading up on yahoo stock, at 130, 100, 80, 70, 50, always thinking the stock was undervalued and the market was somehow "wrong". haha |

many companies are doing business off the forums now, making private deals. and you said there's no justification for shelling out $12K for a sig? you're short sighted. imagine this scenario. a company selling feeds drops $12K on a sig. through that sig, they acquire a customer whose monthly bill is $2500. in 5 months, they've paid off the cost of the sig. anything after that is profit. and we're talking a business relationship that can last for months. now imagine if that $12K sig refers to webmasters with bills like that. plus all the little guys pushing $200 and $500 bills. it adds up. here's another scenario. that $12K sig refers a webmaster sending 500 sales a month. whip out your calculator and see how quickly that adds up, especially if you factor in cross sales, upsells, etc. throw in another 15 webmasters sending 5-50 sales a month. we're not talking peanuts here. |
If you want my sig , i wont take anything less than 10k
