No Carb Diet - What to EAT?

Im so fucking hungry..

Whats some shit I can get thats really low in carbs, high in protein and goes along with all that low carb, high protein lose weight fast shit...

So hungry :helpme

Something that tastes good too

KraZ 06-09-2004 07:18 AM

what about some chicken steaks...

Furious_Male 06-09-2004 07:20 AM

Eat your normal intake of carbs without excess and simply get some exercise. Burn more calories a day then you take in and you will lose weight.

I was doing the no carb diet before it was popular. It does work but there is a rebound. Your better off eating right and getting exercise for true long term weight loss.

:2 cents:

C_U_Next_Tuesday 06-09-2004 07:21 AM

your body needs carbs for energy... im against all the fad diets when alls it takes is some will power , eat sensibly and excercise... instead we want to go spend more money on the diet industry for someone else to dictate for us what we are supposed to do so we can feel hungry and miserable and restricted..fuck it.. eat a fucking baked potatoe already!

DamageX 06-09-2004 07:22 AM

Jamdin 06-09-2004 07:40 AM

Just restrict your carb intake to 20 grams a day for two weeks. Increase it by 5 grams afterwards until the weight loss slows. Eat eggs, salad, red meats and cheese. Make sure you eat three meals a day and drink plenty of water. Walk instead of drive and dance a little for exercise.

I have cut out bread, pasta and potatoes for the past week. I have also ate smaller portions of everything. I drink water instead of milk and tea. When weather permits, I water the flowers and grass for about 45 minutes. I take walks in the evenings for about 15 to 30 minutes. So far I have lost ten pounds.

Don't list to people that don't know what they are talking about.

Read the book:

Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution

It's less than $15 in paperback and will give you all the information you need.

fat can be used for energy as well. if you eat under 30 grams of carbs per day fat ends up counting as 7 calories per gram instead of 9. so your body starts using fat for energy. other than drugs or starving yourself, thats one of the best ways to cut fat in a short amount of time.

a low carb diet isn't a long term diet imo. keep away from shit carbs, eat healthy and excercise. no magic recipe, just need to dedicate oneself.

benc 06-09-2004 08:07 AM

The problem with a lot of people is they think they can eat steak and bacon every day and still be healthy. They dont really have the discipline to eat healthy low carb stuff.

If the low carb food commercials werent annoying enough, now theres a million commercials for multi vitamis specially formulated for low carb diets that contain more fat and protein.

Only in America I guess. I wonder if this stupidy has took off in Eurpe and Asia at all.

AnalProbe 06-09-2004 08:08 AM

Eat pussy.

After that, only eat eggs, about 12 a day. Only eggs.

And eggs.

Beats me really, I'm off to make a club sandwich.

Dude carbs are essential to you staying alive. No carb diet is possibly the dumbest thing created by mankind.

Babaganoosh 06-09-2004 09:15 AM

Low carb diet is bullshit. I went from 280 to 210 eating low fat and watching portion size. Exercise a little every day and then go for a walk a few times a week. Once you get used to smaller portions, you won't be hungry at all.

what he said..^^

ppl come into my bar all the time and say no carbs..that's BS!

your body needs carbs to survive..u can't cut them out completely..

you need to not just watch the types of foods, but how much, when, and what they're made of..

I made minor changes to my consumption and it's made a huge diff..read the labels of ingredients...:thumbsup

AnalProbe 06-09-2004 09:29 AM

Go live like a wolf, in the forrest.

Dig a hole, keep running, searching for food all day.

That will keep you in shape.

tootie 06-09-2004 09:34 AM

Cream cheese and chives spread on lunch meat (like roast beef) and rolled up is a good snack.

Drop a thin layer of shredded cheddar cheese in an ungreased frying pan and fry until it starts to bubble around the edges like a pancake. Flip. Cook until it looks somewhat firm and drain for 10 minutes on a paper towel. Crisps up like crackers. :thumbsup

Take chicken skin and spread it out as flat as possible on a rack inside a broiler pan. Sprinkle with seasoning salt. Cook in a 450 degree oven until brown and crisp. Like pork skins but WAY better... almost potato chip like.

Want something sweet? Mix cream cheese, Splenda and vanilla together. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and place in freezer. Freeze until firm and then store in the freezer in Ziploc bags.

Take boneless, skinless chicken breast tenders and wrap in a slice of your favorite cheese. Then wrap in a slice of ham. Then wrap a slice of bacon around all of it. Make a bunch of these and bake them on a roasting rack inside a roasting pan in a 400 degree oven until the bacon is crisp. Internal temperature should read at least 170 degrees with a meat thermometer.

Barbecued chicken is great. There are some great low carb and no carb barbecue sauces now.

Cut chicken breast or beef into chunks. Marinate in salted lemon juice in the refrigerator for at least two hours. Skewer the chunks on kabobs and grill or broil in the oven until done.

Chop up some of your favorite low carb vegetables. I like celery, garlic and spinach, along with a small amount of onion, which is a bit higher in carbs. I usually add one rib of celery, diced, two cloves of garlic, some chopped spinach and about 1/4 of a small onion, diced. Add this to a pot containing two cans of chicken broth or beef broth. Add one can of chicken breast or some diced chicken or beef. Shrimp is good in it, too. Boil gently until the vegetables are tender. Nice low carb soup :)

Meatloaf is good for low carb. Mix ground beef, herbs, finely diced mushrooms, 1/4 of a small onion, minced finely, crushed pork skins and a couple of eggs together. Shape into a loaf and bake at 400 degrees for about an hour (until no longer pink inside, about 160 degrees on a meat thermometer). Serve with low carb, sugar free ketchup or barbecue sauce.

Cook chicken breast chunks in butter or margarine until at least 170 degrees inside. Add Louisiana Hot Sauce to taste. Eat as-is or roll up inside lettuce leaves.

I have a friend who lost about 75 pounds on the Atkins diet about 2 years ago. Her cholesterol is down, her borderline diabetes is gone and she hasn't gained any back. It can be a great diet if you stick to it, but it isn't healthy to be on the diet unless you stick to it.

4Pics 06-09-2004 09:45 AM

Low Carb works...

But its not a diet! It is a lifestyle change you are making.

You can also cut fat and eat smaller portions and accomplish the same thing but for me the foods I eat tend to be less calories then before and i eat less. Plus cutting out soda has helped alot, now i dont go through sugar highs and lows through the day.

KMR Stitch 06-09-2004 09:47 AM

Nothing really..

MC'ds has nice flat bread.

Salads, no bacon bits or crutons. Low fat Dressing.

Steak. no potatos.

No BEER, NO SODA

Dude, you are so wrong.

Atkins is a low carb diet not a no carb diet.

If you buy the book, read it and follow it it is quite safe.

mastamindz 06-09-2004 11:32 AM

Just eat properly and get some excersize.

Lower your carbs but don't remove them from your diet.

Eat whole and raw foods.

Fuck Atkins

Johny Traffic 06-09-2004 11:37 AM

eat a big bowl of pasta, you know you want too :)

Yes, follow that, he also had heart problems, but that couldn't be from a high protein diet which typically seems to inclue a lot of fat. (though I believe he preaches low fat, but all you would eat if tofu, nuts and chicken breasts then)

i know some people who cut fat to drop weight and they had zero energy for working out.

good fats are essential to living healthy

I've been a veggetarian since second grade, and my whole family is one. My father never ate meat since his father was one of the founders on Hialeah Hospital in the 20s and a cardiologist from Oxford. So being a veggetarian, there is nothing low carb I can eat...(that's my excuse for not dieting)

abyss_al 06-10-2004 12:37 AM

tuna

what possesses someone to be a vegetarian?? i've always meant to ask a few people i know that are.

kelly 06-10-2004 01:15 AM

Great ideas from tootie, here are a few of my favourite standby's

slice a chicken breast into strips and bake with garlic and butter, great to eat hot or keep in the fridge

devilled eggs

tuna mixed with mayo and wrapped in lettuce (so you pick it up like a sandwich)

steak (or any meat) sauteed and served with cauliflower in creamy cheese sauce

beefburger topped with sauteed spinach with garlic

stir-fry ground beef with beansprouts, mushrooms and celery

experiment with loads of different low carb foods - after all if it doesn't come out right you can add cream and garlic and it's bound to taste good :Graucho

As much as I support a low carb life style, I have to admit that these "low carb" vitamins are indeed ridiculous! But hey..it's very popular right now so everyone's looking at how to cash in some way.

It must be Al Qaeda or someone spreading those rumors that he died from a head injury..not a heart attack.

Did not have heart problems before that. He DID have an infection of his heart..caused by bacteria..QUITE different.
