Techies... VERY IMPORTANT question for you re: external HD enclosures
I just bought a hard drive enclosure today. I tried two different hard drives in it, hooked up to my laptop. The first drive was a 10 GB slave drive used to store content, design projects, personal photo albums, etc. I was able to access that disk fine.
The second drive was a 40 GB drive was a master drive that had Win XP Pro installed and stored all system files as well as my MP3/movie collection. I was unable to access this drive. When Win XP Home would startup on my laptop, it would crash, go to the blue screen of death and then reboot continously. Any idea why this would happen? Is it a problem with my HD? Problem with the installed version of XP on the HD conflicting with the running version on my laptop? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks! |
I've tried several of those. They all suck.

They do suck. I have problems with them too.
Sorry bro. |
Why not boot first, and then connect? Both FireWire and USB are hot swappable.
