Accutene Question
 

Ok, so I have been getting some breakouts recently (nothing serious) and decided to stop them once and for all with achahahahaene from the doc.

Yes I know its like killing a fly with hammer but it gets the job done either way.

Its hot here in toronto, and heard you cant go in the sun too much when taking it, should i wait till the weather slows down or is it ok to take till the end of june?

and yes i know the effects the drug has on the body and couldnt care less, it clears up skin better than anything else and thats all i want.

I'd wait til the cooler months. My sis and cousin used to take this stuff and their skin became very sensitive to the sun and sunblock didn't help. It's a good med and provides some long term results it's too bad it doesn't provide life results :(

Accutane is a miracle cure. NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE ACNE AGAIN, but they do because Dr's won't prescribe it for mild to moderate cases. If you have mild acne, you have to take a much smaller dose, that shit is powerful. Too much and you get super dry and cracked skin all over your face, redness and swelling, extremely dry lips which crack and peel, severe nose bleeds, dry and thinning hair, extremly dry eyes and throat. As I recall, they come in 10, 20 and 40 mgs?? Take the 20 EVERY OTHER DAY, and you'll get great results with much less sevcere side effects. Trust me, I know.

DON'T GO IN SUN!!!! AND YOU MUST TAKE IT FOR AT LEAST 5 MONTHS!!! BUT IT'S WORTH IT!!!!!!!

yeah, that shit is so powerfull,dont take the big doses,you will regret it. I took it when I was in High school and I felt like my lips were falling off. as far as weather goes,shouldnt really matter, if its too cold you will dry up,if its too hot you will burn.

Heard that Beta Carotene has the same effect as acutene... is that true or is that full of shit?

All Accutane really is, is a MASSIVE dosage of Vitamin A

i took 40mg for 5 months, worked very well..........

beta carotene is vitamin a without the toxics kinda...

Accutane is a derivative of Vitamin A. If you were to take the same amount of Vitamin A it would KILL YOU. And YES, the course therapy is 5 months.

careful your liver and cholesterol with be fucked up. That is why they do a blood test every month when u take it.

yeah, my buddy has severe acne, took accutane, and fucked his liver bigtime!


Its reall not worth it, besides it will go away naturally in a year or so. Just be patient!

easy for people with clear skin to say dont worry about it, and also it can take well into your 20's for it to clear itself up... aslong as your getting tested monthly to check your liver i say it's pretty safe.......... of course the side effects kinda sucked but it beats having acne all over

dont take accutane unless you REALLY need it.. during the first and last months using it, your skin will get 5X worse before it gets better

start small

Wait until after summer. You need to take it for the full cycle (5+ months) & your face will really dry out, your lips will peel...not fun.
