I saw a wiry thin guy humble two massive weightlifter friends
We had a barbecue last Sunday and there was this tall and thin guy, 6'2" and some 165 pounds, plus a couple of friends and their g/f. The tall dude works in high-rise construction and practices climbing as a sport. Let us call him Joe.
One of my friends is seriously into weightlifting and got the looks, with huge biceps and bulging muscles everywhere, Arnie-style. Lets call him Arnie. The talk turned to the merits of weightlifting to become strong and such. Joe ventured that a guy can be amazingly strong even having normal-looking arms. The girls giggled. Arnie looked him up and down and challenged him to a few pullups (We have equipment in the backyard). So Arnie goes first and does 10 pullups, the last 3 rather slowly and the final one with difficulty. Joe does 15 EASILY and with ONE FUCKING ARM!!! Well that was impressive so the other weightlifting friend (call him Larry) challenges Joe to an arm wrestling bout. Larry's arm is smacked on the table in two seconds. Then they go at it again and Larry holds hiw hand with the other hand - again Joe wins, although with some trouble. We were all amazed, I mean Joe was a THIN-looking guy. How could he be so strong? Later he climbed the wall of my house like a monkey, in just a few seconds, to get a ball kids had kicked up on the roof. I mean, to get to the roof is a laborious thing, one has to drag out the ladder, fix it firmly then climb, and here this dude got up just like that without any apparent effort and without ripping his pants or whatever. Jesus..... What's his secret? |
secret = angel dust, your friends are drug crazed hippies

i could probably to 15 pullups with my masturbating arm, none with the other one though

Yeah. Remember your skinny friend only weighs 165. I'd rather lift 165 than 250+ any day of the week. Roid muscles are for looks. After a certain extent it's all tear and repair. Bulk does not necesseraly mean strength
|
The big guys most likely train for mass not strength. Training for repitition is a whole other ball game. As for scaling your walls at the house I think he is watching to much spyiderman:winkwink:

Weight lifter muscles are usually just for looks unless you train a certain way...
A climber has everything that they need. In other words their more optimized. |
The secret is eat decent, work out daily and stay off those fucked up suppliments and steroids. I've got some juice monkey friends who lose their minds when they can't out wrestle me. Its all about training for strength and endurance, not looks.

maybe his friends underestimate him, that is what usually happened if you tend to underestimate one's capability... and the secret?? maybe he practice great SEX lol |
That's crazy shit man, but what everyone is saying makes sense. Bulk vs Strength
|
Ahh.. it's all bullshit.
1) As someone already stated, if I was in a pull-up contest, I'd rather be pulling 165 than 225. What does the skinny fuck deadlift or squat (two REAL tests of overall body strength). 2) Arm wrestling is MOSTLY technique - not a true reflection of strength. Also, as with ALL body movements, they depend on join/ligament tie-in. If you've got favorable joint/ligament tie-ins, you could be "unnaturally" strong in certain movements. I've seen skinny, small people with great structure and perfect form lift A LOT of weight. |

muahahahahahahha :1orglaugh :1orglaugh |
in BJJ I own weightlifters on a regular basis.
The problem with gym muscle is that it's not practical muscle, it's not applicable to real movements, and when a big guy needs to move all that muscle can slow him down and it also makes him gas out a lot faster. I've worked a little construction in my day, and I can remember being awed by old stringy alcoholic looking guys who could throw 4 pallets of roofing tile on their shoulder and climb a ladder like it was nothing, while I would have to take one rung at a time with just ONE pallet on my shoulder. They have effective muscle instead of show muscle, it makes all the difference in the world. Thin wiry guys are also known for being damn hard punchers. |
dude i want a monkey
