Porn Purveyors Beware
by Keith Peters, Washington , D.C. , correspondent
Congress considers resolution that would strictly enforce obscenity laws. Pro-family lawmakers are hoping to stop the nationwide spread of pornography through a resolution supporting the vigorous enforcement of obscenity laws. "The . . . resolution," said U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., one of 95 co-sponsors, "is an effort on many of our parts to give voice to the desire of the American people to bring an end to the coarsening of our culture." A Wirthlin Worldwide survey found that 81 percent of adults polled support enforcement of federal laws against Internet obscenity. Jan LaRue, chief counsel for Concerned Women for America , said the resolution would support a crackdown by the Justice Department. "The porn industry and their allies continually attack Attorney General (John) Ashhahahahaha for any effort in targeting obscenity and so he has the backing of the American people," LaRue explained. "It's very important that he also have the backing of Congress." That's because, she added, pornography is not a harmless pastime. "This material plays on the weakest part of human nature," she said. "It exploits and degrades women and brings many men into addictions that ruin their lives and their marriages and their businesses." Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., hopes the resolution will preserve the innocence of our children. |

Fuck that. America loves porn. Most people just are afraid to speak their real feelings about it.
