Selling content question....
Yes, this is my first content sale... and I need to ask a question.
What documents do I need to send with the content besides the CD of images of course, the model release form and dl photocopy.... Do I also need to send a copy of the 2257? or anything else too? Thanks :thumbsup |
You don't want to send a model release...I sure wouldn't. You OWN that content...unless you shot an exclusive scene for someone as a job...
As far as "2257 documents" all you need are digi files of their 1) government issued ID 2) their secondary ID So, content and pics of ID's...that should be it! Congrats on your sale! :thumbsup |
You should send the license agreement that oulines usage and restrictions, if any.

But so far.. you are the only one to sey send a model release... All the other content people tell me NOT to because those are my copyrights. Fuck... can't anything be easy? |

You don't lose your copyright by sending a *copy* of the release, nor do you transfer your copyright. That power can only be granted through your license, as it's the only document that will presumably be executed (signed). By sending a copy of the release, though, you can argue that the licensee was properly informed of the boundaries of his rights in case he violates the terms of the release. If your license is more restrictive in all areas than the release, then you're probably covered, anyway, and it's not necessary. Personally, I like to see a copy of a signed release, because it contains information pertinent to 2257: model's uninfluenced concent, any stagename/alias she uses, etc. |

But I will be shooting a lot of amateur... (like this... these are mine My content post ) mostly soft stuff... not into the hard... Girl Girl and dildos would be as hard as i go.... Maybe some solo trannie... see a lot of solo stuff with that niche... that is for now... i guess... Thanks again for your advice and help :thumbsup |
You do not have to send anything. But you should send it all.
Copies of two IDs, model release and the license should all be sent to your client. Because the IDs show the model was of a legal age, the model release shows the date it was shot indicating the model was over 18 on the date of the shoot. The model release shows the shoot was professional, the model was paid and the rights they signed away. The license so they know what they can do with the content. Having the right documentation when buying is essential. Because if it's ever needed having it there on your premises is what will save you. Forget about what the law says or you think it says. If you ever get a knock on your door from the AG or his delegees you will thank yourself you had the documents. Because establishing that you did not need to will cost you thousands of dollars in lawyers fees. Yes you have rights and a lawyer will charge you $400 an hour to make sure of you have them. |

If you want to minimize your risk you have all the documents on file, if you want to risk it you do not. If you get visited by the authorities you will need a lawyer to argue what your rights are, That or show them the documents, your choice. I would never rely on a person I have never met to have the documents, just becasue he says he has them and they are in order does not make it true. Trust is earned not given freely. |

let me know if you need a professional online content store as well. That means a well-functioning shopping cart capable of automatic discounts, various payment methods, instand content download capabilities, etc.
We developed and constantly improved such an application ourselves in 12 months. It has a webbased admin panel, intuitive userinterface, etc. We could easily change the design, logo, make the registration mandatory or non-mandatory for you. In other words, the application is very easily adaptable and flexible. We would have you up and running in 24-48 hours Martin |
