50% of peoples problems are mental, get right in your mind and leave the drugs behind :Graucho

well that explains alot about you.

Give it time.... it take a while for the serotonin levels in your brain to stablize to the changes.

Side effects fade over time....

Wow Oracle I am the 180 of that. I was on it for a few years (Insurance ran out) and I was more in-tune and was able to get more work done. But now being off it the voices have come back. :(

give it a little more time.

I worked well for me. But I was only taking 10 MG twice daily, don't know what your dosage is. Maybe lower the dosage to or up it to 10MG-2x a day

I started taking Zoloft a few years ago and noticed the same thing. My productivity was waaaaay down.

I eventually had to put the kaibosh on that shit. I'd rather be depressed and have money than happy and homeless.

misty_dayz 06-07-2004 05:11 PM

Prozac needs 30 days to build up enough in your system to work properly. I never head of people getting tired/lazy but since it is given for depression I would assume that this is due to the depression and not the prozac.

Oh, I don't take prozac, I have a medical background so I just thought I would pass along to him the information both his doctor and pharmasist should have given him. Prozac is a once daily dose.

Paxil is a nasty drug. It may help some people but it has terrible side effects. Lexapro is alot cleaner.

Sometimes people have chemicals embalances in their brain, so a bad day for you could be 40x worse for them.

Your body really has to get used to new drugs being introduced to your system. Some people have lose their sex drive, others lose all motivation at all.

It really upsets me how fast doctors dispense anti depressants. Its almost as though they were pez. When I was "depressed", I had no idea that a lot of my peers felt the same way. My GP said I should take zoloft or effexor which both made me violently ill. Pretty sad when she could have recommended a pyschologist to help me better manage my problems.

Sometimes I feel like a goddamn guinea pig.

ImLost 06-07-2004 06:47 PM

dunefield 06-07-2004 06:50 PM

it takes 2 weeks for anti-depressants to kick in...

Mr. Marks 06-07-2004 06:52 PM

never took it, but heard lots about it though.

zentz 06-07-2004 06:56 PM

Prozac kicks in two week (stats) just like any other SSRI. That is why most doctors prescribe xantax or ativan along with their prescription.
