Last night I went to pay my respects to Reagan
 

Ronald Reagan's body was being held down in Santa Monica at a mortuary. My girlfriend and I decided to go up there and leave some flowers at the memorial that had started up in front of the building.

It was a very somber affair, everyone was very quiet, very respectful except for the news photographers and two idiots who decided to bring their dogs which hindered them from even crossing the street. We sat for awhile, I read some of the things people were leaving; notes, cards, magazine articles, etc.

It was very sad, considering that I grew up in DC while RR was president...he was the president I had known throughout most of my adolescent years and pretty much idealized what & how a president should be/act. He was a good man and I keep thinking about a sign I saw on TV yesterday from outside the White House: "Now THERE was a PRESIDENT". I think that pretty much sums it up.

For people in the L.A. area, if you feel the need to pay your respects still you can visit the R.R. Library in Simi Valley. You must park at Moorpark College to catch a shuttle there. It should be pretty packed, that is why I went last nite to avoid all this.
