heading off in an hour or so to go see his talk. Swear, I am like a kid getting ready to go to Disneyland. The journey home is going to be fun since it ends too late for me to get my last train directly home but hopefully I don't end up dead :)

not seen it yet because it only just premiered here last week so I will wait until I see it to do that. For now, I will go into fangirl mode. Bringing my Bluntman action figure to get signed ..god, I swear I am an adult.

hmmm...well not so near future by what he had to say. No Jason Lee either because the studio won't go for it and as they bought all the books they want someone they think is more bankable to do the franchise.

wonder if they'll bring Chevy Chase out of mothballs to reprise the roll......

no, he talked a lot about that tonight. When he first brought up doing Fletch again with Universal they really didn't want Chase but Smith did because he wanted it to be a continuation. Thenhe met Chase and he was a bit of a prick to him but wanted to do the role.

Then in between he did Dogma and stuff and the project got dropped by universal. He was contacted by the guy that wrote all the books and basiclly offered all the rights to all the books. He was with Mirmax now and brought it up to Harvey (got to love first name basiss stuff) who got onthe phone and made the deal in 5 hours which he said was the fastest deal in Miramax history or something.

Anyway, the selling point to the studio would be that the were prequel stories based onthe book and as such wouldn't involve Chase at all. Even the studios don't want to see him back.

Jason Lee would be a perfect Fletch. Fuck Hollywood studios. Fuck them in their stupid asses.
