ppl in this biz seem to throw that shit around like its nothing. Trust me, trust them, trust my fucking ass!


why is it trust is such a fucking loose term in this biz?

What does trust mean to you?

Trust to me means experience over time with consistent results.
everyone has a bad day, a bad week even a bad month...but if over time they have proven to be consistent in providing whatever it is they promise I think I can trust them.

Now there are also varying degrees of trust...that's a whole other issue.

A lot of people are in it for the quick money vs the long haul. Trust to me is when i send out cheques to my partners and they dont think twice about questioning the amounts or even bothering to look at the stats. It's also me sending out the "full" amount of their share.

I trust my partners with the sales of content i own on DVDS and know they pay me what is owed...

And, we have no contracts in place for anything between them and i, everything is built on trust.

We've known eachother for about 10 years now :)

(Note: I'm not talking about the people i license content from, i have agreements in place for all the content i use and would never mess around with that.)

Why? Because all people care about is making a quick buck. They will lie to gain your trust then fuck you when your back is turned and have your cash. There are enough suckers out there that they can make a good amount then get out.

Get references before doing business with someone you do not know... TRUST NO ONE!

In this bizz for most people trust is only an expression.

Trust is something that I only have for people that I've actually met or talked to:helpme

i mostly keep to myself when the issue of trust comes up.

its kinda hard to trust peeps in this biz.

trust gets built up over a long period of time.

and certainly its not quantifiable. meaning to say, either i trust you or i dont. no in betweens about it. i believe that mutual trust means equal trust. if i fall, i could count on you, and that goes in your case too.

anyways, i trust very few people. a few family members, a few close friends, and my girlfriend. there's no one in this business i trust, and for one simple reason.

i have to get to someone first, preferably in person, and i haven't established that type of relationship with someone in this business yet.

If I trust someone then I believe they will do whatever they said they would without me having to check. When I start doing biz with someone I "trust" them until proven otherwise. Obviously the amounts involved are relatively small and I have been screwed a few times.

But dont we all have to trust someone when we start sending hard earned traffic to them?
